Great location for being central in town and with plenty of parking to the rear of the premises for all guests. We were in the 3 roomed annex, rather than the main building which has 9 rooms. The annex contains the superior rooms. Room was bright with good ventilation, clean and equipped sufficiently for a short stay. Bed was actually two beds joined together, so was huge, and was very comfortable. Towels and toiletries were supplied along with the typical kettle and tea/coffee facilities. As the annex rooms are to the rear of the beer garden, they are reasonably quiet at all hours, with only the occasional rowdy drinkers being a minor disturbance, but it is a central pub and should probably be expected. Other rooms in the main building may have been noiseier, so it may be worth enquiring on the location of your room before booking. We had planned to eat and drink at the pub on both nights of our stay, but due to issues with my food order on our first evening I returned my meal for a refund and we opted to go elsewhere instead. Breakfast involved a reasonable selection of buffet items and a selection of cooked breakfast options. Full cooked breakfast was OK, but the omelette and eggs florentine options were much better on our second morning. Easter Sunday started with a rude awakening, as the fire alarm went off at 6am. Only saw one member of staff on site investigating the situation and nobody to give guidance to those that did bother to leave their rooms. I made myself known to the staff member, as a fire marshal, and was told that someone had been smoking in a room, but breakfast staff suggested it was a fault in the system. Check out is normally by 10:30am, or you can pay £10, as we did, to give yourself a more relaxed morning and an extra couple of hours to be on your way. As we had been awakened so early though, it was pointless hanging around.
