A standard hotel, you can buy discounted hot spring tickets at the front desk, and have a rich Western-style breakfast. Although the location is not on the main kilometer, it is not too far away, but unknown flying insects are flying all over the sky. Lovely location in the middle of nowhere. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Every room has a view. Beds comfortable, welcoming international staff. Dinner portions were very generous and they accommodated dietary restrictions for our group

Eines der vielen in den letzten Jahren neu erbauten und gut in die Landschaft integrierten Hotels in Island. Ideale Lage für alle Ausflüge rund um den Myvatnsee inkl dem Diamond Loop. Lohnenswert sind eine Kraterrandbesteigung und die dampfenden Felder. Ausnehmend nettes Personal an Reception und im Restaurant.

Three nights here has been delightful : the rooms are larger than average , shower hot and powerful restaurant like all in Iceland is expensive but worth it . Food and service cannot be criticised at all . We shall be sorry to leave after days spent exploring the area around the lake as well as taking a shake watching trip

If you like peace and quiet amidst the stunning wild scenery of Iceland, this hotel is for you. Situated on the south shore of Lake Myvatn it has been built to blend into the scenery. So a few comments about its prison-like exterior are unfair-it’s been done for a purpose. The public areas are pleasant though perhaps some quieter background music in the bar would have been appreciated. A nice dining room serving upmarket dishes from a small menu. Those on a budget may find prices out of their range. Plenty of choice at the breakfast buffet. Staff were lovely, friendly & helpful. My only disappointment concerned the bedroom. It was quite small and decorated in dark colours which I found a bit oppressive. I’m not aware that any of the rooms are larger? Nice view towards the lake & road though. Bathroom was ok with a roomy shower.
