The Glasshouse

Stayed in this hotel twice for work. Central location in town, in walking distance from the train station. There is an underground car park which is open to the public. Rooms are clean. If you are sensitive to noise, ask for a room NOT facing the river. The river weir is right beside the hotel and is quite loud. Only problem: the breakfast, very poor quality food. The cooking is ok, its the ingredients. The most bland of supermarket bread, eggs that taste of paper. What is called coffee is a burnt brown water. So second time I went for tea, not much better. There weren't any easy-to-get-to breakfast serving alternatives around the hotel early morning.

Great hotel! The hotel is clean, modern and comfortable. The location is central in Sligo Town - right on the river by restaurants and shops. The breakfasts were good. Our room had a balcony overlooking the river which was lovely. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone want to stay in the center of Sligo town.

what an amazing location. A fab hotel from top to bottom. even the basic rooms are top quality be sure to check out the river side Suites (I've stayed a few times) or really spoil yourself with a rooftop stay like we did (see pics for view). the views are amazing. the cafe bar food and space is as nice as you will see in any hotel bar. every staff member we met was ultra helpful and friendly. the view bar on the first floor has really funky decor with top class cocktails and has djs at weekends playing a nice low volume funky vibe. It's location makes it an ideal Sligo town stay.

Enjoyed our stay here. Staff at reception are lovely. Twin room was spacious and very clean. The upstairs bar is fabulous, lovely view over the water and great selection of cocktails. The only downside to this hotel is the cafe bar. Quite a cold and small area for dinner. Food wasn’t great, we got a steak and fish&chips which neither of us enjoyed. Had lunch here the following day before check out and again not great. Soup and a sandwich should be easy for a chef to make but apparently not, sandwich was awful. I would stay here again due to central location and nice rooms but I would go elsewhere for breakfast and dinner.

We had a wonderful experience staying at the Glasshouse. The rooms were clean, and comfortable. We had a great buffet breakfast every morning to start the day. The hotel's location is close to shops, bars and restaurants. The staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly. Everyone was so nice. An added bonus was the Thomas Connolly bar directly across the street. From our balcony it didn't look like it was lively, but it was the best experience we had. Pleasantly surprised. Great experience overall!

I have just returned from the most amazing weekend at the glasshouse. I had booked originally a deluxe room with a small balcony and river views. I kindly received an upgrade from the most kindest lady Vanessa who arranged this for me as it was a belated trip for my husbands birthday to the newly refurbished deluxe suites with large terrace sitting area on the sixth floor. Check In was so smooth and on our arrival, which was early advised that our room was ready. Thank you to the lovely girl who checked us in sorry I didn't get your name. Very informative and helpful and nothing any trouble to her. We stayed in room 603 and to say I was stunned on entrance would be an understatement. With bathrobes slippers and a mini fridge with water to the lovely chocolates all these touches made our stay even more special. The room was spacious, the most wonderful bathroom and outdoor area, which wirh the great weather we had was certainly put to good use. Breakfast was beautiful as was dinner we ate at the hotel again which was very reasonably priced. Service from all the staff was first class hence why we keep returning. We enjoyed the entertainment also both nights in the hotel, which is a bonus if you want to be chilled and not have to move after dinner. Check out was again very smooth sad to leave for sure. Massive thank you to Vanessa and all her staff. You certainly went over and above for us this weekend, and it didn't go unnoticed.
