The room facilities are very good, and it is difficult to find a place to charge. The layout of the room is also very old, only the outdoor environment is good, and there are no other advantages.

True to its heritage. Ambience was awesome. You can sense the history of the whole place. Breakfast was good. Opulent interiors. Friendly staff. But wifi was slow. TV was small. No streaming service. Bed sank in the middle and pillows werent firm enough. Seat cushion of chairs around small table inside the room needed replacing. But overall we enjoyed the experience.

Fantastic place for staying a night in Yarra Valley. Staffs are kind, helpful and supportive. Our parents went on hot air balloon the next day morning. Everything is perfect.

Venue was exceptional. Greeting when we arrived was great, received a brief history tour, showed us around the different rooms, where breakfast would be. Took our bags straight away and carried them to our room. Room is spacious and luxurious, great view from the balcony. Dinner - Greeted and shown to our table quickly but that’s where it went down hill. Ordered a bottle of wine which then after 1.50 hrs told us it wasn’t available. Water took in excess of 20 mins to get and had a glass missing. Food was exceptional. But the we had empty plates left in front of us whilst staff walked around. Service at dinner was very disappointing. Would rate the service 1.5 stars out of 5. Breakfast Day 1 also took over 30mins to order again. People sat down after us and had food ordered before us. Again very disappointing with service. Breakfast Day 2 Much better as there was a Manager on shift who knew and was instructing young worker on what to do. Seated quickly, ordered quickly a very different experience and was very good. Would recommend staying here, staff were very friendly and food was excellent but professional service was missing.

Given the age (and history) of the building it was in fairly good condition. Needs some $$$$ spent on it to bring it up speed and that would make it something quite special again. (A grand old lady). It was very quiet and peaceful.
The staff, (all of them) were absolutely amazing (went out of their way to assist) and made it a very pleasant stay for us. Food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble.

We booked our stay at Chateau Yering because of the rooms with an open fire place. When we arrived we discovered that in fact the fire places did not work and were not functioning until winter. This was never mentioned through the booking agency but in fairness to the staff they offered to upgrade us to the main guest suite which had a gas open fire...all sounds good. Unfortunately that fire place did not work either due to a problem with the gas pipes...needless to say it did put a bad slant on the hotel. When we checked out the manager was extremely short when i raised the issue and blamed the booking agency for failing to mention it...my thoughts: the booking agency represents the hotel and they knew nothing about the fireplace issues. I hate it when they don't take responsibility as it leaves a bad impression. Also we couldn't get any food at 4pm because the bar was unable to serve any because the chef had gone home! The only good note: Eleanors Restaurant was excellent.

It was a perfect autumn sunday sunny afternoon. We were lucky to get the best table with an incredible view. It felt like we were transported back in time with the luxury and decadence of the old times. The service was impeccable and we loved the bubly at the start. The food was delicious. We will definitely come back with the whole family.
