This is a winner! Ingrid and Jo could not be better hosts - welcoming, helpful, friendly, and informative. The room was so comfortable, and we did not experience any noise problems even though it faced onto the main street. We slept like babies! We ate in both nights, and had a cooked breakfast one morning. Jo can really cook! It's seriously worth having dinner in the cute little room out the back. We had fab salmon the first night, and chose entrees only the second night, as we were embarrassed at not being able to finish the salmon dinner. Ditto breakfast. Highly recommended. This is a great base for exploring the Tarkine, and as a launching pad for the trip to Strahan.

We thought we would post our itinerary to show how you can enjoy a couple of nights at Pos**aster Inn B&B on a tour of North-West Tasmania. Day 1: Launceston -> Smithton with options to visit Chris**as Hills Berry Farm, Van Diemen’s Ice Cream, Ashgrove Cheese, Anvers Chocolate, Blue Hills Honey along the way before entering into the accommodation in Smithton. Smithton is the gateway to the Tarkine. We chose to stay at Pos**aster Inn B&B. Pos**aster Inn is very clean and comfortable. We slept very well here. The hosts, Ingrid and Jo, are very hospitable and amazing cooks. They look after you in great detail. We recommend having their in-house meals and breakfast. If you would like to have Crayfish, remember to order at least 24 hours in advance. Seafood is fresh and local. Veggies come from their homegrown garden. We loved all dishes we had: scallop entree with ribboned fresh cucumber and pine nut dressing, panko crumbed Tasmanian fish and creamy Tarkine fresh oysters. Day 2: Smithton -> Tarkine Drive, rainforest section. We ordered a pre-packed lunch from Pos**aster Inn to have at Julius River BBQ area. It needs around three quarters of a day to complete the rainforest walks and visit all lookout spots (no.12-22 on map). Day 3: Smithton -> Tarkine Drive, coastal section with option to take the Tarkine Fresh Oyster farm tour at Smithton. The tour must be booked a couple of weeks in advance. The coastal drive had wilderness views on one side and coastline views on another side. (No.1-8 on map). Then we drove to our accommodation in Wilmot, the base for our Cradle Mountain hiking. Day 4: Cradle mountain summit walk. Overnight in Wilmot. Day5: Half-day short walk at Cradle mountain. Then return to Launceston.

Room & bed very comfortable. Small bed & breakfast but owners very friendly ladies. Had an excellent Seafood Dinner, great Tassie Oysters & beautiful Scallops dish. They also have a very nice prawn & scallops Fettuccine meal. Recommend seafood from dinner menu.

A wonderful one night stay. The hosts Ingrid and Jo were fantastic. We dined in with Jo producing a great meal. If you like oysters definitely order them. Supermarket and bottle shop a stones throw away for afternoon snacks and nice bottle of wine to accompany your dinner. Very comfortable room. A great base to explore the Tarkine and surrounding areas.

We were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome by Ingrid and Jo. Our room was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. We chose the dine-in option one evening and had a first class dinner prepared by Jo.

The building itself was lovely and the hostess very friendly. Room was nice and clean and well laid our. However our room facing the street was very noisy. Admittedly it was Saturday night but the pizza place over the road ensured that it was extremely noisy with endless traffic and people yelling till around midnight. Breakfast was also very underwhelming compared the next B&B we stayed at.

Great hosts, excellent food, arranged to charge the car with the host. They could benefit from installation of a destination charger as more electric cars travel to NW Tas. Good base to explore the Tarkine

We loved the quiet nature of this venue. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable., offering tea making facilities. This a small operation making service very personable, and professional. The breakfast was generous, and served in a separate dining room. The offer of a home cooked meals after travelling for 12 days, was a great touch. We ate both nights we were there and Very much enjoyed our meals. Off street parking also an advantage.

Great place to base yourself for a tour of the NW Tassie coast and hinterland. Cosy, warm, lots of character. Super nice owners. Very accomodating. The best home cooked meals in town so don't bother eating out. If you don't have the Tarkine oysters for breakfast, lunch and dinner then you've missed out on the opportunity to have the best oysters on planet Earth. Make sure you drive the Tarkine loop (do the rain forrest walks) and have lunch in Arthur River (BYO). Rob & Domi X
