Sokcho Mari Vista Hotel

I stayed with my family at this hotel for four days while visiting Sokcho. Most importantly, it was very clean; they left bottled water and fresh towels in a plastic bag outside the door every day. For stays longer than three days, they provide housekeeping and change the bed sheets. The location is excellent—just a 10-minute walk to the beach, with many restaurants nearby. Since E-Mart and Daiso are few steps distance, it is convenient to pick up anything you need. It is also close to bus stops, making it easy to get to Seoraksan National Park. The reception staff were friendly and handled the check-in process quickly. I would recommend choosing a room on a higher floor; in my 8th-floor room viewing the city, I could hear a continuous, loud noise from outside—possibly from an air conditioner—whenever the window was open. The dressing area was spacious and comfortable.

Comfortable and nice stay, got upgraded to an ocean view room. Amenities (shampoo, body wash, conditioner, hair dryer) excluding toothbrush and toothpaste are provided. Room was very spacious. About a 15min walk to Sokcho beach, and a 30min bus ride to Seoraksan National Park.

We had a very nice stay at this hotel. The room was spacious, they upgraded us for free to the 17th floor with an amazing lake view. The room was very clean, housekeeping is every three days, but they deliver fresh towels and water bottles daily (they leave it at the door without coming in the room). I would definitely come here again!

Spacious room. I wonder if we got upgraded? We were put on a higher floor, with a nice lake & sea view. The room was clean and spacious, the bathroom is very well ventilated, the beds were comfortable, and the curtains did a good job of blocking out the sun. Sound insulation/soundproofing is OK, but we were adjacent to a family with children, and they were noisy till 10:30pm the 3 nights we were there. Apart from that, it was quiet.

Our stay at this hotel has been pleasant overall, but we did encounter two problems, 1. When we entered our room we found out that the AC was not working properly, we gave it some time and it still didn’t work so we contacted the receptionist, which sent us a technician to solve our problem but his only solution was to wait, and even when we told him that we have been in the room for two hours already, he insisted we need to wait (he did not understand English so the conversation was really hard to get through), so after waiting another hour we contacted the receptionist again and this time transferred us to another room which had good AC so this problem was solved. 2. The breakfast was really really bad, and the only real source of protein it had was pork in 4 different ways, and scrambled egg which we really didn’t like at all, and also the only choice of coffee in the breakfast is milk with “coffee syrup”(???) which is super inappropriate. Overall I would recommend to stay in this hotel and just not take the breakfast.

Mari Vista hotel is an excellent hotel, close to everything: beach, restaurants, bus stops to Seoraksan park or Naksansa temple. It is also within a walking distance to Abai village. The hotel is modern and clean. The check-in is at 3pm and you have to get a number and wait in line. The check-out is simpler as you just have to drop your key cards into a box in the elevator.

Great location. Hotel feels like brand new, everything is sparkling clean. They provide fresh towels and bottled water every day- the bag is hanged at the door handle without causing any disturbance. Great view.

Room was great and new, very centrally located near the bus terminal and beach.
