This is by far the loveliest hotel I’ve ever had the pleasure to stay in. The staff a friendly, attentive and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and when our airport transfer failed to appear on our last day the receptionist asked were OK, took total ownership of the problem and solved it quickly and efficiently for us even though it was nothing to do with the hotel. Our garden view room was beautiful with everything we could ask for. Housekeeping staff were friendly and kept us clean and tidy including a turn down service. Good WiFi service and TV available in many languages if you need it. Well stocked mini bar. Safe and ample hanging and drawer space for everything you’ve packed. The breakfast offers a very good selection of hot and cold items including freshly cooked eggs and omelettes. The regular coffee looks thick and strong but is in fact just right. Other styles of coffee are available though. Obviously as this is Italy there is cake as well as pastries. The view as you eat is just beautiful. An excellent selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic hot and cold drinks is served in the bar, in the outdoor areas and down at the beach bar. Not cheap but accompanied by substantial snacks which makes a Coke there worth more than the one in the mini bar which costs the same. We had lunch at the hotel one day and that was very good. We didn’t use the pool but several other guests made good use of it. We enjoyed taking the lift down to the beach deck level and watching the boats going in and out of the harbour and the fish swimming in the sea. If sea swimming is your thing this area is ideal. There are toilets down at that level too. The hotel is a gentle flat 10 minute walk to the centre of Sorrento and the train and bus stations. Also an easy walk to the harbour if you want to take a boat to Capri, Amalfi etc. (There’s a public lift to bring you up again for a small fee.)
