Mercure Portsea & Portsea Golf Club

Beautiful room with comfortable bed and bathroom was spacious. The rooms overlook the golf course, no I don't play golf! Nice little balcony looks onto the course as well as some sea views could be seen afar. Great TV Channel with excellent movies to watch. Heating worked well. 🚿 shower was lovely with strong pressure with great temperature too. Breakfast was in my booking too, added extra bonus. Staff at reception on arrival was lovely and to see a staff member happy to attend to me. Thank you! 🌻 Staff in the bar area was lovely to answer any questions I had for her, so thank you. Enquired about where breakfast was in the morning. There's a nice bar upstairs from the rooms, all rooms are located on level 1 only one floor for rooms. The bar is big, spacious with lots of outdoor area to sit as well. Big TV to watch the footy match, 'Go Cats 🐱 Overall this hotel was lovely and quiet, just exactly what I needed this weekend. Off too the hot springs ♨ today, always a favorite of mine!
Carmel at Sorrento

WOW! Carmel’s is simply Devine! This accomodation is stunning and is a beautiful place to rest and relax. There was plenty of room for our party of 6. Keyless entry, underground parking and access to the apartments is simple and easy. We loved the fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook, it has a coffee machine, large selection of teas and having a washing machine and dryer was fantastic. 3 bedroom apartment had spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds with plenty of pillows and blankets. 2 smart TVs and a gorgeous kitchen bathrooms and spacious lounge and dining area. The remote blinds were a nice touch and so easy to use. The balcony was huge with a BBQ and dining table. Service from Staff was exceptional they went above and beyond to provide mobility disability items for my Mum to make her stay more comfortable which was greatly appreciated. Location was perfect in the Main Street you could walk to shops and restaurants which was great. A grazing platter was a very nice gesture and was delicious. I would highly recommend staying at Carmels a perfect getaway couples, families or a group of friends.
Harmony Bed & Breakfast

We had a last minute booking at Harmony B&B, and it was a great decision! We were greeted by the lovely owners and their dog Barney, and were provided champagne on arrival. Our Tea Tree Room was beautiful, overlooking the stunning rural landscape. The breakfast was lovely and filling (we didn't need to eat dinner). Room was comfortable and tranquil, good bathroom and good selection of DVDs to watch. The pet alpacas were a highlight! Location was fantastic, minutes away from St Andrews beach and brewery, Peninsula Hot Springs and golf courses. My only regret was not staying longer.
Sunny Side up B&B Rye
4.8/542 Reviews
Where to start? Sunny Side Up is just lovely. It is fresh, clean, very Scandi-modern, and very comfortable. We stayed for just two nights, but would've loved to have stayed longer. I know our fellow guest felt the same. Our room was spacious, the bed was super comfortable, and the huge bathroom impeccably clean. Oh, and the beautifully prepared and presented breakfasts were really, really good. Theo and Carine were great hosts, and we really enjoyed our conversations with them. We can happily recommend Sunny Side Up to anyone who want to esceape the city and discover the nearby places where wildlife abounds.
Peppers Moonah Links Resort

We stayed in the open room in November 2021 for a night. The accomodation is a short drive up from where the reception is, so don’t bother unloading your bags before checking in. The room was absolutely lovely. We were on the bottom floor in the corner so the view was a little underwhelming, but that didn’t matter. The glass windows and the glass on the balcony looked like they hadn’t been cleaned for a long time which was a little disappointing but overall we were very happy with our experience. The location is very peaceful and beautiful.
Rye Hotel - One Four Nelson
4.2/586 Reviews
Booked a King Deluxe Suite and called the property to ensure it is at ground level with a walk in shower, instead of a spa bath due to a disability and a kid. All was confirmed along with late check out at 11 am. We arrive at the property and low and behold, the room allocated was an upstair room, and was told there are no notes there on the booking and we cannot be allocated a room downstairs.  The receptionist said she might know who we spoke to, but unfortunately they are no longer attached to the hotel. How convenient. More over, we were told there is an issue they are having with bookings with booking.com.   The worst part was she was now trying to put us up in a tiny cooped up room above the reception/pub, which was across the main hotel and smaller, saying there was an elevator, which I refused. Ended up staying in the room originally allocated upstairs, with unwashed sticky cutlery, because I could manage the stairs on the day and didn't want to ruin the much awaited holiday after the long lock down.  The situation was handled poorly and the receptionist never once was empathetic or apologetic about the mistake occured from their side and just kept blaming the lack of notes. Unprofessional, rude and sneaky! Didn't even bother to ask about the late check out, coz we were sure there would be no notes.  Tip: Get any special requests via email so you have it in writing, coz they are going to blatantly deny every word confirmed over the phone
