Holiday Inn Express & Suites South Bend - Casino

All was well until the fire alarm went off at 5:30 in the morning. Thankfully it was a malfunction . But… peaceful sleep was interrupted by the loud alarms going off in our room. Then at breakfast the pancake maker wasn’t working right. And then when we checked out it took the printer 5 minutes to work and print out our receipt.

Appears to be some confusion about this hotel in other reviews. We stayed at the Express on the south side of South Bend near US 31, next to Menards. This is an outstanding place to stay. Rooms were spotless, staff was professional and friendly, excellent parking for our RV and a great breakfast of real food. The price was very competitive, but the value was far beyond other hotels we have stayed at. We will be back next spring on our return trip from Florida.

The hotel is nice and was in a perfect location for us. The room was spacious and clean. The safe didn't work and the bed was way too soft but who can really complain for the price. The breakfast as a whole was just ok but the biscuits were amazing.

Had a great stay, rooms were very clean. Continental Breakfast was very good, alot to choose from. Will stay there again.

The room was perfect; but I was disappointed that a hot breakfast was not provided. It was one of the reasons I chose the property.

It’s great for work

Front desk person wasn’t the kindest . For some reason I had issues with two different credit cards for incentives at the front desk. After I had already paid for the hotel room, we swiped one of my cards it was accepted, and then she claimed it was declined, although I could show her on my statement that the money was deducted, about 10 minutes later when I got to my room it was refunded. Also not my fault. They claim that this hotel is affiliated with the ****** but it’s not anywhere near it.

We travel as a family for work. This Holiday Inn Express was a great stop in South Bend. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, very prompt and gracious in their service. Issues that occurred (outside of hotel staff control) were met listening ears, clear explanations, and apologies. They can’t help when guests decide to smoke in their rooms and set off the fire alarms twice in one night. They gladly gave us a late check out which was extremely helpful. The hotel and ground were clean, and clearly well maintained. The room smelled very clean, and was bright and quiet even though we were along a busy road. Very comfy, medium/hard mattresses were comfy, and the bedding was clearly well maintained and cleaned, not just masked with bleach. Breakfast was top notch for the HIE brand. My kids love the hot cinnamon rolls, and I really appreciated the baked goods physically dated with when they were wrapped. Extra love to the front desk staff who gave my kids chocolate milk because they were out of hot cocoa. AMAZING SHOWERHEADS!!!!!! Overall a fantastic stay!!!
