My wife and I are just back from a one night stay at Burnham Beeches Hotel, and it was pleasant enough. To be clear, there was absolutely nothing wrong with our stay - but nothing stand-out better than average either. The owners (Corus Hotels) should stand outside the front and take a minute look at the exterior, as we did...frankly it looks tired and tatty, as do certain aspects of the interior. We arrived when we said we would, but the reception desk was unmanned and it took a few minutes for someone to serve us. We has a Superior Georgian Room, and it was very spacious but I'm not certain about the Georgian influence. The panelled dining room and breakfast room are highlights, both are elegant rooms that work well. The main bar area is a bit bland, but the Tea room is another good feature. Food was good quality and well prepared - 4 out of 5 on that score.
