We use travelodge regularly for short breaks as they take dogs, which is excellent. We are also driven by cost, convenience, and there is usually one within driving distance from where we need to go. In this particular room however, the smell was dreadful. On arrival, the staff had aimed to mask it with air freshener, but the underliying smell of damp dogs and dirty feet was very unpleasant. We had to wash everything upon return, even clothes that we hadn't worn, as the smell was so overpowering that it had impregnated everything
