Excellent food and service. Good atmosphere, visited on a Sunday and had a lovely Sunday lunch.would recommend for anyone visiting especially with small or toddler children as quick and attentive but not over the top. Perfect!!!!!!!!!!

What you expect is a good pub/restaurant with rooms for b&b but what you get is a hotel that is closed except for b&b where the rooms are just about ok! The place smells musty. The pillows smelled. The owner is a nice man but you feel this place really needs to be fully operational or should close altogether. Definitely not worth the money with the competition in the area. Breakfast and service were fine. It is very odd as there does not appear to be anyone on the premises overnight other than the guests!

Dined twice at this place and both times food was excellent. Worth phoning to book but both times we just called in and they found us a table. Exterior could do with cheering up but inside the service and welcome was excellent.

A last minute few days away. We were greeted with a warm welcome & shown to our room. Our room was much bigger than we expected, so was pleasantly surprised, very clean & had all that was needed. Bed was very comfortable & we definitely had 2 great nights sleep. Visited the bar at dinnertime and staff went above & beyond to accommodate my fussy alcohol request :) We decided to have a meal there, first impression was it was abit pricey, but once our meal arrived it definitely, top marks & worth it's money, so much so we ordered dessert too, which was also delicious. Breakfast on the morning was freshly made to our requirements & was also delicious. Felt alittle sorry for the host as I believe there was only 2 people working (cook & him) he was back & forth, back & forth so many times he definitely got his step count in for the day, if not for the week lol. Overall we had a wonderful few days away, Host very friendly warm & welcoming, room was beautiful, Meals were excellent & definitely worth the price. When we're next in the area, it will definitely be our 1st choice.Bea

Returned after a few years to give my sister the fish finger sandwich experience that we'd had a few years ago.. not dissapointed! Large portion of fried fish in a burger type bun that you have to eat with a knife and fork.. and great chips too. Great art deco interior, and pleased to find original Armitge "Adamant" urinals still in place!

Really enjoyed our weekend at this lovely retreat on the Furness Peninsula. Our room was comfortable with views over Morecambe Bay towards the Lune Valley and the Pennines. The restaurant served a choice of good food, and excellent local real ale could be had from the bar. The friendly staff made us feel very welcome, we shall return.
