May 30 thru June 3, 2024 - My family and I recently visited this resort for the first time to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday. The location is quite beautiful and the outside of the hotel's exterior and lobby was quite lovely. That's where the beauty is deceptive... On our first night, upon visiting our unit, we found pee on the Master bedroom toilet seat. No one had used the bathroom yet. Gross! So, we reported it to the Front Desk and the staff stated they would "inform Housekeeping so they could do some cleaning." Yeah, that never happened. When we checked out, I told the Front Desk staff about all the mechanical issues that we had during our stay ....they looked bored when we told them. Needless to say I was flabbergasted. I mean, if you're going to charge $700 a night, the least you can do is make sure all the crap doesn't break during your guests' stay. Makes sense, right? Insofar as the mechanical issues, here is a breakdown of all the issues and broken items that Engineering came to fix in our condo unit during our visit [5/30/24 - 6/02/24]: 1. Phone not working. This phone was fixed once and then broke again. We finally gave up after the 2nd attempt. 2. Dishwasher - A broken piece of the dishwasher was sitting on the top basket in the dishwasher and the interior of the dishwasher was rusted. How was that sanitary? 3. AC (Second Bedroom) - In the middle of the night, Enginnering was called when my daughter's AC stopped working. It appears that the filter was clogged. If tgis was maintained, then this would have not gone out in the middle of the night! 4. Tub clogged (Second Bedroom) 5. My daughter woke us up on the second day of our trip because she smelled a "rotten egg" smell coming from the room. We called Engineering and they said it was probably water in a pump at the back of the fridge. Nothing was done to fix it. We just lived with the smell and it dissipated or we just got used to the smell. Really??? 6. Smoke alarm - Sunday morning around 8am, the smoke detector in the master bedroom went off due to low batteries and woke us all up. Engineering was called yet again. 7. The light on Microwave for Stovetop at night did not work. We didn't bother getting this fixed...we had bets to see what else would break down during our stay.... So, all in all, we think that this hotel may look "pretty" on the outside but they don't maintain their hotel rooms so its not really worth the exorbitant cost of the rooms/condo units. Not to mention that they tack on a $40 resort fee, $20 self-parking fee, and miscellaneous other fees and taxes. Bottom line: This hotel is not worth it. The hotel, The Sapphire, next door has a way better pool. We are going there for our next trip!
