I’ve been for Sunday lunch once here and mid week lunch a couple of times. I have to say this time I was disappointed. As a couple we had booked quite last minute for mid week on a Weds, so it was treasured time without our little one whilst he was at school. We ordered 2 mains and when they were delivered one was completely wrong. Fish goujons not an open steak sandwich that my partner has ordered. It meant that I had to start eating mine whilst he watched me. Luckily it didn’t take long to make it so he got it. Then we ordered 2 desserts and hot drinks, we had a wait for the latter. I asked for some cream as the desserts were plonked on the plate and didn’t look very attractive. We were on a table of 2 which was really close to another table, it felt very busy. I think considering they got the mains wrong maybe a free dessert or hot drink would have been good! Nothing was offered. The food was ok but nothing to write home about. My expectations are quite high because it’s a classy looking place but it felt like the little touches weren’t there unfortunately. When we walked in the receptionist ignored us. Then I had to get up after being seated to ask what the soup choice was, as there was no waitress in our little room to ask. I felt like I was bothering the staff. They would also benefit from more starter choices at lunch. The 4 offered didn’t feel enough and none of them tempted me to have one, maybe a fish one would be good. My partner is dairy intolerant and can only have vegan and these weren’t clearly marked. I think the only one he could have had was a salad. The set menu wasn’t tempting either with 2 choices of sausages and mash. This is something I’d make at home. Maybe some specials would be good? Ive been here for Sunday lunch and it was lovely and I would have chosen that mid week if it was offered. I’m local and I don’t think we will be coming back unfortunately.

We booked a pod for a family birthday get together but coincidentally it was also Easter Sunday It was jam packed and although the staff were very nice the service was dreadfully slow Disappointed by the sharing platter as the food was not served hot enough and was cold by the time we had all served ourselves. A shame as it spoiled the occasion.

We arrived February 8th and left 70 days later. The hotel has a fantastic team who all contributed to make our stay very special. Couldn’t recommend the mansion enough. Very well run, events organised to perfection. Food outstanding and service second to none. Such a treat to dine in the pods and relaxing in the bar. Looking forward to returning in the summer to enjoy the beautiful grounds. Thank you to everyone at the Mansion 🙏

DO NOT STAY at this hotel booked a king room for two days but ended up in what can only be described as a hovel. On arrival to the Mansion the entrance, lounge and restaurant were as depicted on the website but that's where the beauty ends! once upstairs passing any public areas you start to see little snippets of what you are about to be greeted with. Upon entering the room it divided into two on one side a bedroom with en-suite and the other which could only be described as a very rundown bedsit. As the photos attached depict cracks in ceilings, missing plaster on walls, faulty light switches and sockets, only one bedside light, no TV in bedroom, a supposed SMART tv in bedsit which did not work as there was no internet , the furniture looked liked it had been dug out of a skip with scratches and dig marks and a sofa which looked and smelt like it should still be in a skip. The list was endless and when we went to complain were told the hotel was fully booked and couldn't move but they would fix the socket!!!(this did not happen). We tried to find an alternative Hotel but were all fully booked so had no option but to stay. In bed there long cobwebs above on the ceiling and on one side of the bed, springs coming through the mattress! With no choice but to stay we did not enter the bedsit side and with no Tv in bedroom resorted using our mobile phone as a TV. On leaving after our stay the receptionist asked how was our stay and when we told her the response was sorry. This is totally unacceptable and I urge anyone thinking of having a party or wedding at the Mansion NOT to book the accommodation for your guests. I gave it one star as the breakfasts were okay, if not it would have been ZERO stars!!!!! A king room this was not and totally misleading as we were not self catering. Words cannot express how disappointed and upset we were on what should have been a few restful days away turned into a holiday from hell.

Having arrived the reception team were slick and lovely. The facade of the building was impressive and we arrived without any rain which was a bonus. Walking to the room everything was very bland and very grey almost like and I hate to say soulless all the character had been removed. So having climbed 3 flights of stairs we eventually arrived at our room . It was clean with a table and two chairs and what seemed to be a fully fitted kitchen? . The bed was cheap and uncomfortable as were the other fittings, dirty marks and holes in the walls . The Bar was full of children sitting at the bar and the lounge was like a crèche with children running around , the bar prices were an absolute joke £7.50 for a Perroni , service was really slow . We went out for dinner and upon our return about 10.00 pm we asked if we could use a dome outside and were told that we would have to spend & 200 before we could use it? Okay but we’d already spent that on the room. On a positive note the breakfast was excellent and the service too, but we did have to ask for a better table and the poor girl had to get permission from her manager before we were allowed. We were there as part of a wedding party (not at the mansion) so we met on the Sunday morning and were told we couldn’t sit in the dining room and have coffee so we ordered our coffees and were directed to the soulless lounge, where we waited and waited. So all 10 in all cancelled the coffees and left the hotel… would any of the group return, that would be a big No.

Amazing and lovely place to stay. Bar staff seemed absent. And got bored waiting for someone to man the bar. Friendly reception and night time security staff. And overall feel good factor and enjoyable stay. Lovely bedroom. Dull bathroom with unpleasant smell.

We visited The Mansion to celebrate a family birthday. We had lunch there. The service was just perfect and the food was delicious. The staff went above and beyond to help and catered for GF options. The setting is very pleasant and it is easy to park.

We went here for a birthday meal. We were well looked after and as soon as the waiter found out it was a birthday meal he made lots of extra effort to talk about birthdays and look after us. A good selection of meals even for a quiet night in january with fish, meat and veg options availeable. Good selection of cocktails as well We managed to go on a special offer night so that was even better but would certainly not be a problem paying full price for the quality of food served.

Booked a surprise night away for my husbands birthday, our kids & family. Honestly it was amazing from start to finish. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful & also couldn’t do enough for you! The place is absolutely stunning and the food is incredible. We arrived on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and enjoyed drinks in the garden outside. That evening we had booked a private pod for dinner which I highly recommend, the food was amazing & it was a real lovely touch having the privacy of the pod. Our accommodation was stunning a beautiful apartment that overlooked the grounds. The breakfast in the morning was amazing. The hotel and grounds are super classy but what I loved most was this was a very family oriented place. We will be back and I will be recommending!
