DO NOT STAY at this hotel booked a king room for two days but ended up in what can only be described as a hovel. On arrival to the Mansion the entrance, lounge and restaurant were as depicted on the website but that's where the beauty ends! once upstairs passing any public areas you start to see little snippets of what you are about to be greeted with. Upon entering the room it divided into two on one side a bedroom with en-suite and the other which could only be described as a very rundown bedsit. As the photos attached depict cracks in ceilings, missing plaster on walls, faulty light switches and sockets, only one bedside light, no TV in bedroom, a supposed SMART tv in bedsit which did not work as there was no internet , the furniture looked liked it had been dug out of a skip with scratches and dig marks and a sofa which looked and smelt like it should still be in a skip. The list was endless and when we went to complain were told the hotel was fully booked and couldn't move but they would fix the socket!!!(this did not happen). We tried to find an alternative Hotel but were all fully booked so had no option but to stay. In bed there long cobwebs above on the ceiling and on one side of the bed, springs coming through the mattress! With no choice but to stay we did not enter the bedsit side and with no Tv in bedroom resorted using our mobile phone as a TV. On leaving after our stay the receptionist asked how was our stay and when we told her the response was sorry. This is totally unacceptable and I urge anyone thinking of having a party or wedding at the Mansion NOT to book the accommodation for your guests. I gave it one star as the breakfasts were okay, if not it would have been ZERO stars!!!!! A king room this was not and totally misleading as we were not self catering. Words cannot express how disappointed and upset we were on what should have been a few restful days away turned into a holiday from hell.
