My 2nd Stay for another Theatre trip this year, booking and parking is easy and it's very convenient for the Theatre and shops, arrival was not very good, a new guy was alone on the front desk and it took at least ten mins to check in (only 1 person in front of me), it was so slow someone standing at the bar walked out, once I finally did get my key card it didn't work, so I and another female guest had to return to reception for cards that did work, the hallway carpet is looking very worn and dated, the aircon not that efficient and the tv unlevel (room 233), the twin beds were smaller than expected and towels were very scarce, for the price I wasn't impressed, but the room fulfilled it's role for the night, the downstairs area is immaculate and breakfast choice very, very good, I went to breakie at just after 8am on the Saturday (24th Sept 22), the orange juice ran out and I told a very nice and helpful female waitress about the problem, and she instantly resolved the problem, people watching as you do, I did notice that this waitress worked her socks off, I would also like to praise a very attractive blonde female hotel guest wearing a Arvia tracksuit, this young lady with a pony tail was extremely courteous to A LOT of people within the restaurant, she constantly and consistently gave way to people as they and she walked about getting their breakfast, she constantly smiled and was the apitamy of courtesy and politeness, i think i saw Georgia on her top, the boat show was on and with the Arvia Launching this year, would imagine she was there (with other colleagues) as PR for the new ship ?. The ibis and near by Novotel do see a lot of cruise people and guests stay and she was a great advert for the Arvia as was the young waitress for Ibis. To Recap; Starting to look dated upstairs, slow booking in process, slightly ”inflated” price, exceptional breakfast and courtesy by staff and other guests, I would stay again and would recommend the Ibis, Southampton for a theatre or shopping break etc.

My wife booked this via *********** for an overnight stay before we left for our cruise. On arrival we were greeted by a foreign lady who didn’t speak much English. We explained who we were and she went and got us a key but then said we had to pay an extra £20 for our young son. We asked why and she could not explain so asked us to call the owner as it was her instructions. We spoke with the lady who owned the place who was quite arrogant and again her English was not that good. She advised that she was boarding a flight in 15mins and we needed to pay £40 cash or leave. We explained it was only £20 so why was it now £40 she said as there was x3 people we had only booked for one person. We explained that we had accidentally booked the family room for one person but this was corrected and we had a confirmation email from ***********. She said they never updated her so we would have to contact them or pay up. We said we would call them as I was on the phone to *********** the lady who gave us the key came to the room and told us she was instructed to take the key back. Literally a few minutes after getting off the phone to the owner. We were then told to speak with the owner again who re-iterated we paid or left. We asked about the £100 we paid via *********** and she refused to refund this saying we had to contact them. We advised we would call the police as this appeared to be a scam. But she just said leave or pay. I then got onto *********** who confirmed the booking was made initially for three people but then amended and they would call the owner but she refused to answer. In the end we had a young child and we’re unlikely to find something else so we paid and stayed the night. The room was basic and clean and the beds were comfortable but there was loud music and a dog barking all night. On looking out the window there was gangs of people hanging around making us nervous as we had all our cases in the car parked outside. I would not recommend this place and it was such a downer to the start of our holiday. I have contacted Booking .com and have also noted similar practices with the owner doing this to other people. Book at your own peril!

We booked this hotel at very short notice and had to pay quite a top rate for an Executive Double as there were only four rooms left. We were attending the Womens Euro 22 match at St.Mary’s Stadium in Southampton and there were no hotels close to the stadium. Particularly with parking. Knowing that there was extreme difficulties in parking at at the Stadium we asked the hotel to book us a taxi to and from the stadium at the times we requested. They did so and kindly emailed confirmation . The Hotel is situated adjacent to one of the Cruise terminal and is perfect for a pre cruise or post cruise stay and a handy cruise parking is available.it is also close by the city centre within walking distance. Our room was excellent, overlooking the terminal. It had air conditioning, safe, a king double bed, some complimentary goodies like a small bottle of Prosecco, water and Kit-Kats. The bathroom too was roomy with hand basin, toilet and walk in shower. Again all clean and tidy. There was a very small problem with noise from the terminal with the early arrival of a cruise ship but nothing untoward. We ate breakfast in the hotel which was included in the rate. There were excellent choices of fruit, yoghurts, cheeses, cereals and jams etc. along with good choices in the good old full English breakfast. All the items were well cooked and hot. Save the fried eggs which are always well done in most hotels unless individually cooked. It was do your own toast , coffee or tea. Again choices of all of these were available. Despite other reviews we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and have absolutely no complaints at all. It certainly compared favourably with the buffet style breakfasts on a cruise ship, of which we have done many. We found all of the staff friendly , helpful and courteous. Check in and out was very easy and there is a car park charge but that happens in other hotels too. Overal, although a little expensive our stay was enjoyable and pleasant.

Really can't fault this place, nice comfortable and cosy rooms, fantastic staff, parking for 8 days and a transfer to the docks all included in a very reasonable price. Breakfast was really nice, probably the best budget hotel brekkie we've had. Special shout to the staff though, every single one of them were absolute diamonds, even the busy cleaners wishing us a lovely day. Definitely recommend.

Moxy Southampton

We arrived a couple days before our cruise and we're glad that we chose this hotel. The location was perfect for us. We took a bus from London and the hotel was about a ten minute walk from the bus terminal. We also did some exploring by train and the train station was also a short walk away. The ”old town” area is nearby as is a huge shopping center. The cruise ship was less than five minutes away by Uber. We checked in at the bar and were quickly on our way to our room. This was our first stay in a Moxy. The room seemed unusual to us, but perhaps that's the Moxy way. There were no drawers, no closet, hooks on the wall for hanging clothes (hangers provided), one shelf on each side of our queen bed and one sheft on the opposite wall. There is a night light under the bed that is activated by a motion sensor. I never saw that before but it worked well. The room had very strong WIFI and there were lots of charging ports for electronics. The bed was quite comfortable. The shower was quite small but had a powerful stream and consistent temperature. There is no tub. The small lobby has books, puzzles, and more. There was even a guitar there (perhaps inviting someone to play?). Breakfast at the bar was included and I thought it was pretty good. I'm happy that we chose this hotel. We'll certainly return for our next Southampton cruise.
