Q8 Boutique Hotel

Really lovely hotel, spotless and modern with very friendly staff. There was an issue with our blocked sink and the heating but after speaking to the lovely manager when I got home (there was nobody on reception when we left) it was all sorted with an apology and a refund. We will definitely stay here again.

The staff were welcoming and the room clean an well appointed. Good bathroom with plentiful hot water in the wet space shower. The room was at the from of the hotel and had a great view of Southsea common. However, the road outside was busy and consequently the room was noisy up until 0100. The publicity for the Q8 Hotel should be clearer that breakfast is not available on site. Unfortunately the bistro where breakfast would have been served was closed for refurbishment. Fortunately, there were plenty of good independent establishments nearby in Palmerston Road where a good breakfast could be had.

Seaview is very nice.

Room was clean but very clinical. Not a boutique hotel feel I’m afraid. The bathroom door handle broke, we reported it, but nothing was done about it. It is a sliding door, so completely unable to close it when in shower or toilets. Only one mug for the two of us, and no milk on second day. Issue reported, but not fixed, again. Definitely not worth 330 pounds as far as we are concerned.

Hotel was notably quiet, especially appreciated as I’m a light sleeper.

Room was clean and quiet. Beds were comfortable. The receptionist was warm and friendly. However, there was a smell of drains.
