Excellent hotel with helpful staff and good food. The only drawback with the food that there was only a choice between meat based food or vegan options and, as I am a vegetarian, it would have been helpful to have been fully accommodated. The staff took on board one of our concerns, but the other is that the wardrobe was short and not designed for garment such as dresses, skirts and trousers. A short walk took us to Southsea rock garden and then to the promenade.

The Superior Twin room was absolutely lovely, spacious and spotless. The bay sash window had privacy screens with two little windows to open and get some sea air. The bathroom was excellent. The room was just a few stairs up from a separate private entrance. The cocktail bar was sweet, and the person on reception always helpful in booking Aquacabs, which came immediately. Tiny areas for improvement, I would prefer bottled mineral water in the room, not bottled tap water. Also, the cooked breakfasts didn't taste wonderful, probably the oil used? Overall, a lovely period property in a quiet setting, very close to the seafront. We reserved a parking bay in front of the hotel, for £10.

If you are looking for friendly staff, excellent food and comfortable rooms this is definitely worth a stay. From the time of checking in to checking out nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. All were very accommodating. The bedrooms are decorated very tastefully the beds so comfortable and everywhere so clean. Breakfast…wow ! all freshly cooked and a great range to choose from. On site parking. We certainly enjoyed our stay here and will definitely book again on our return.

Second time I have stayed here - nice big rooms, really comfy bed, very clean and staff are lovely. Breakfast was very nice too. Only negative is thay parking can be a challenge, but managed to get parked on the street a short walk away both times. The hotel provides permits for parking FOC.

Nice clean room, my room was a little small, but comfy none the less, Make sure you book parking as the side street are very narrow and double yellow lines. The food was excellent!

Wow this place is very nice. Great decor, modern, clean, big bedroom which was beautifully styled with large ensuite. Comfy bed and pillows Breakfast was the best I've had in a long while. Big choice.
