We booked 3 double rooms with sea view, they only had two, but they did have executive doubles with a sea view but would cost £100 per night more. We decided to treat my daughter and her partner as it was his birthday. We arranged it so they would arrive first and be all excited to see this room that had cost almost £250 per night, social function rate, did they get the excitement “no” they had put them a small dingy room, a room smaller than even ours, same furniture but crammed in. Apparently their large superior is smaller than their standard double. They make the excuse we asked for then to be together, we didn't, we asked for their availability for s 3rd room. They moved her to the room after complaining, to the room we thought we had booked and called it an upgrade. The moment for her had been lost, no apology at the time nothing. This was his reply from their general manager I am sorry to hear that your daughter didn’t get the “wow” moment you expected for her. As James has highlighted the room she was given was as booked a superior seaview and was the only one on the third floor near the 2 double standards with baths as requested, we do not have many room baths so this was the best option to meet your requests. The booking request for baths was just for the double standard rooms. I appreciate you may not agree with our standardisation of rooms but it is marked as a superior because of the décor and furnishings quality of bed etc. The room she was upgraded to and the one you feel you had booked is a large superior seaview as James has sent over to you already with the normal rates that would be charged. Don't assume you are getting what you pay for, they can call their rooms anything, surely it's their size and amenities that count. If a room is smaller or the same size as a basic double, same furniture as a basic double, bed same as a basic double then it's a basic double, but according to queens General Manager NO!!!! Just to mention that the true cost that that “upgrade was £289 apparently, but we had a special place function rate and still paid £250, so was this really an upgrade, I think not!!!giving you what you had already paid for is no compensation for getting it wrong in the first place. Poor customer service
