The bedrooms were themed, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The restaurant and bar were also nicely decorated and inviting and had a good chris**as vibe. The food was also good although a bit more choice would have been nice particularly for plain eaters.

My husband and I spent an o/n at the Castle Inn, the young man on Receptoon was very kind. We had a very welcome meal, after a waring day at a funeral, the waitrese was charming. Only one little thing the bathroom just needed a steam clean, or a lick of paint. Having said that we enjoyed our stay, refreshed for our journey North. Many Thanks.

Great spot and great evening meal. Check in is a bit awkward when there is a big crowd or function going on. Room was unique design and cozy but cold upon arrival. Be careful in the bathroom as the shower is open and the whole floor becomes very slippery. Breakfast was disappointing as the chef did not show up. Porridge was served with berries that were still frozen and the croissants were served very cold.

Staff were very professional, polite and efficient. First trip to this part of Yorkshire and will definitely stay here again when I return. Had dinner and breakfast here. Sunday roast was delicious, and the continental breakfast was sufficient and tasty.

It is a lovely hotel and pub but with a draconian parking policy which really spoilt our trip... so much so that a pint cost us a £60 parking fine! Essentially the pub is in a small village where you would not expect to see controlled parking in its car park. Apparently there is signage advising customers to register their car at the bar but we did not see it (nor did we go looking for it given the rural location). The result is a £60 fine for a 50-minute visit. The policy obviously has a negative impact on first time customers like us. Yes, we need to be more weary of such policies but we certainly won't be returning to this pub. because we feel it could do more to alert people (for example maybe staff pro-actively alerting customers like us that they have not seen before.).
