Crowne Plaza SPRINGFIELD - CONVENTION CTR by IHG

We stayed here for one night while passing through Springfield and had a genuinely enjoyable stay. The highlight of our visit was Ron at the front desk. He immediately recognized my IHG Platinum Elite status, thanked me for my loyalty, and made us feel like valued guests. He upgraded us to a very spacious suite, and his professionalism and hospitality set the tone for the rest of our stay. Employees like Ron are one of the reasons we continue to choose IHG properties. The hotel is showing its age and would certainly benefit from a modernization. Some updated furniture, refreshed finishes, and a redesign of the larger suite layouts would go a long way. That said, everything was as clean as you could reasonably expect for a hotel of this vintage, and we actually appreciated its classic convention hotel atmosphere. It has a character that many newer hotels simply don't have. We also had breakfast in the hotel restaurant before checking out. There appeared to be only one server working the dining room during a busy breakfast period. She was constantly moving, remained friendly, and did an impressive job keeping up with guests while the kitchen prepared our meals. She could have used another person on the floor, but she handled the rush with a positive attitude and kept everything moving at a reasonable pace. Overall, we left feeling well rested and happy. No, this isn't the newest or most modern hotel you'll stay in, but great service can make a lasting impression, and that's exactly what happened here. Between Ron's outstanding welcome, the comfortable suite, and the hardworking restaurant staff, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

This was my first time at the Crowne Plaza in Springfield and I was traveling with a group of friends. This is an enormous hotel with lots of convention/meeting room space. The only “con” was the fact that when you enter from the parking lot, registration is on the second floor…and the escalator was broken so you have to drag your bags all around the escalator area to the elevator and go up a floor. We were checked in quickly and the desk staff looked up our IHG numbers for us and gave us $10 drink coupons for the bar (YES! This hotel has a bar!). Our rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Everything worked. (Well, we had to go down a level to find a working ice maker). After dinner elsewhere, we went to the bar for our drink. It was noisy and got noisier (but it’s a bar) and even though there was only one bartender, he was able to manage everything. While I did not eat at the restaurant, others in my group said it was good. I would stay here again…they don’t make hotels like this any more.

I stayed 2/26/2026 - 3/1/2026. I want to start out by stating that our buffet server Chelsea's personality and service was exceptional. Also, the buffet food options and quality of food was 5 star.

Nice safe location, pet friendly, quiet, clean, near restaurants and amenities. Would definitely stay there again.

The mattress and covers given for the sofa beds are horrible, but everything else was excellent

A nice place! I will say that room housekeeping was not good! The makeup mirror was covered with powder and fingerprints. There were fingerprints on another mirror in the room. My wife wiped down surfaces and the wipe was black. Not good! Once we had the room cleaner, the rest of the stay was nice.

Room was clean, comfortable, and updated. After reading I was hesitant but was pleasantly surprised by how nice the room was. The only downside was that there were multiple events going on, which made it a bit hectic on the first and second levels. It was also a long walk through the poorly-lit parking lot because of all the people there. Overall, I’d stay again if I were in the area but I might consider a smaller property if not going for an event.

Staff, my tub was dirty like it hadnt been cleaned when i advised front desk they offered to change my room immediately, but i requested that they just clean it which they did immediately. Everything else was great!!!!
