Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Springfield Southeast

After reading all the negative reviews of this property, I was very wary of staying here, but happy to say my fears weren’t warranted. This is an older property that does have some wear and tear, but we found it to be clean and welcoming. Jasmine at the front desk was very kind and helpful. We were there with a block of rooms for a youth baseball tournament, where there were a few other teams staying. Breakfast was adequate. There was a small space outside to congregate, as well as the lobby had a couple separate areas where the furniture was comfy. The indoor pool was small and unfortunately there were some kids in there throwing furniture into the pool while their parents watched so ruined it for the rest of the kids in the hotel when they had to change the pool rules. The rooms were clean, showed some wear but beds were comfortable. Toiletries provided were very small so might want to pack your own. Convenience/gas station is right next door. It gets a lot of traffic so kind of loud at night, but the kids loved being able to go get treats and parents loved it to get snacks and drinks without having to drive anywhere. It was a fine stay for what we needed. With the heat an outdoor pool would have been nice but those were hard to find in the area. I would stay there again.

The shower had mold growing and wasn’t cleaned. The lighting was dim and 2 different colors. The hot water took a long time and water went everywhere because the curtain wasn’t to the floor. Overall not clean.

Smooth check in and out for us and other members of group in other rooms. Bree breakfast and breakfast staff were good. This and previous stays were smooth, never a problem. thank to the staff.

Checked in for 3 night stay with an accessable room. They said they did't have any. I had a confirmation number! Assigned us a 4th floor room, elevators were out of order. Told them that was totally unacceptable and that would not work. Then got a 2nd floor non-accessable room and they offered to help with luggage. The manager did find us an accessable room the 2nd day, right next to our room on the 2nd floor. Elevator was out of order for entire 3 night stay.

Overall this hotel is a good value; the price is decent and the location is good - accessible from the highway, with ready access to local sites and nearby restaurants. The lobby is pleasant and the breakfast is adequate and appreciated. Room quality is a little uneven; some rooms have musty or other odors, and some are totally fine. Ventilation from the wall-mounted units is only adequate, and windows do not open. Hallways and carpets are somewhat showing age and wear, but are not noticeably dirty. Most of the staff when I was there were friendly and helpful, but when I accidentally locked myself out of my room at 6:00AM the front desk remained unattended with no one to help me for 45 minutes. I never did find the desk clerk, and was saved only by other staff.

When checking in I felt the receptionist was rude. Wasn’t offered a receipt of our room. On checking out the next day the receptionist was was very considerate and did get me a receipt and when eating breakfast the attendant there also offered a good morning gesture with a smile.

The staff was nice as could be but the rooms all had mold in them. Multiple people in our party had to move rooms while we were there for mold, water leaks in the ceiling and loss of electricity in the room.

Door did not close all the way unless you pulled/pushed it shut hard. Most of the electrical outlets and light switches in our room did not work. Clean room and friendly staff
