A couple decades ago I used to like La Quinta chain quite a bit, but apparently a couple of bad experiences soured me. This was the first time I stayed in this chain since and I was surprisingly pleased. The front desk girl seemed crazy but friendly. Nothing smelled weird anywhere and my room was large and comfortable. I have no complaints (outside of the elevator, being slower than stairs), especially at this price point. Don’t pay extra for the breakfast unless you want Froot Loops and bagels. Seems pretty close to I-55 and there was a massive but understocked Walmart across a parking lot.

Cleanliness: It was alright, felt neat and clean. Environment: The room was unique, with a purple theme. Service: The front desk staff were okay, friendly and efficient. There were several people in line to check in, but it was all very quick.

Hotel was great, very clean. The staff didn’t really hang out at the front desk, they were usually sitting, the guy on duty on Friday had earbuds in and was sitting on one of the lounge chairs while people were eating breakfast. Kids were running way into the night down the halls, that got old.

This place made my trip amazing. I had just canceled my room at the hotel I had booked because it legit was the most disgusting hotel I had ever been in. Not to cast aspersions here but its initials are MSI. Anyway, booked this last minute. After being wound up from fighting to get my money back from the other hotel, I walked into a great experience. The woman at the desk was welcoming, funny, friendly and got me a great room. The stay was comfortable, the suite was very nice, the pool was great. Breakfast was ok but that's fine. I commend the manager for giving a mid range inn the feeling of a better hotel. I will be staying there again.

My experience at La Quinta Inn in Springfield was extremely disappointing. When we arrived, we were unable to check in because of a computer system failure. While technical issues can happen anywhere, the staff made little effort to accommodate guests during the outage. No alternative check-in process was offered, no apology was provided, and we were simply sent away and told to wait. We were given a phone number to call for updates, but the number did not work. Staff also stated they would contact us when the system was back online, but that never happened. We ultimately had to follow up ourselves and were not able to check in until several hours later. We were traveling with a boat for a fishing tournament and needed to charge equipment. An employee initially directed us to an outlet and told us it would be fine to use. Later, the same employee came back and told us we could not charge there because they "didn't realize" we were charging a boat. Considering I was standing beside a boat and holding a heavy extension cord, the situation was confusing and frustrating. To make matters worse, the complimentary breakfast was poor. The biscuits and gravy appeared watered down, and the overall quality was well below what I've come to expect from similar hotels. The biggest issue wasn't the computer outage itself—it was the lack of communication, lack of follow-through, and lack of customer service. Problems happen, but how staff handle those problems matters. Unfortunately, this property fell well short of expectations. I would recommend travelers consider other lodging options in the area.

We stopped here overnight during a long 2-day drive and was pleasantly surprised. The location was perfect for our needs with easy on and off the nearby expressway. The room was clean, modern, quiet and without significant extraneous light at night. Staff were efficient and polite. Breakfast was above average for this price range of hotel (though nothing particularly memorable). Overall, good value.

Let me start by saying that I've spent years in a manager position and working in customer service. I understand firsthand how difficult it can be to deal with the public, and I make a conscious effort to treat employees with respect and patience wherever I go. That's why this experience was so shocking. When we arrived at our room, we noticed there was no ironing board. We called the front desk and asked if one could be brought up. Mary told us she would bring one up. About ten minutes later, she knocked on our door holding a TV remote. We politely explained that we had requested an ironing board, not a remote. She responded, "Oh yeah, that's right," and left. A few minutes later, she returned and told us she couldn't find an ironing board and asked us to meet her in the lobby in about 15 minutes. Roughly 20 minutes later, we went down to the lobby. Mary looked directly at us and, in what came across as a sarcastic tone, asked, "Can I help you?" We reminded her that we were meeting about the ironing board. She immediately became defensive and said, "I'm the only one here. I haven't had time yet to look." We completely understood that she was busy and responded politely, saying that was okay but that we would still need an ironing board when one became available. Later, by pure coincidence, Mary and I ended up riding the elevator together. As we approached my floor, I started to ask whether she would prefer that I call back later or whether she would call us when she located an ironing board. Before I could even finish the first word of my sentence, she interrupted me and said, "I'm going upstairs!" I replied that I understood and was only trying to ask a question. She interrupted and repeated, "I'm going upstairs!!" When I tried again to explain that I was actually just politely asking her what she preferred, she suddenly became extremely hostile and said, "Get off the elevator. Leave me alone! I'm not talking to you! You guys were so rude to me and you were SO upset about the ironing board." This was genuinely confusing because at no point had we raised our voices, argued, or spoken disrespectfully to her. We had simply asked about an ironing board. A few minutes later, she finally delivered one to our room, and I thanked her. Unfortunately, the interaction didn't end there. A very short time later, I was walking from my car toward the hotel when I passed Mary outside while she was vaping. Without any prompting, she commented on my clothing and asked, "What's with the gym shorts?" Confused, I asked what she meant. She then said, "I've never seen someone wearing gym shorts be so adamant about getting an ironing board." I was stunned. A hotel employee was openly judging a guest's clothing and making sarcastic remarks about a perfectly reasonable request? What Mary didn't know—and frankly shouldn't have needed to know—was that I had driven over two hours in hot weather and planned to change into business attire for an important meeting later that

Hotel was conveniently located just off I-72 with easy access. Check in at the front desk was quick and easy. The young lady at check in was friendly and helpful. Hotel was very well maintained and was one of the best ones we stayed in. The room was clean, bathroom had a nice large shower and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast buffet was hot and kept full.
