August Jack Motor Inn

Owner wants to employ bots instead of staff and pesters you to fill out details online before you arrive and depart....and yet the check in and check out takes just as long as not doing this. It's not a modern hotel and the photos lie to you. Expect run down, worn out and broken. Extension cords everywhere likely not up to the electrical code. few flat surfaces to put your belongs on except the foor.

Very very satisfied. Walking distance to all the places I planned to eat at before arriving to Squamish. Front reception were all so friendly. Gave me a list of more placed I didnt have on my holiday to do list. The rooms smelled clean and MY VIEW, I could not describe enough how great it was waking up and seeing what was outside my window. Thanks August Jack, this was the best birthday trip Ive had in 25 years.

Had such a lovely stay. From such friendly front desk staff, to very respectable housekeeping. And not to forget THE VIEW from my room!! Location was amazing, and the complimentary coffee and pastries were a nice surprise.

Coffee was generally unavailable even though they had a fancy coffee machine.

TL;DR: Bed bugs discovered, manager's defensive attitude deters future patronage :( It makes me sad to write this, but, please save yourself money and do yourself a favor... and stay away. Despite initial optimism for the recently renovated August Jack Motor Inn, our stay was marred by the presence of bed bugs. Upon discovering the infestation, I promptly contacted the inn, hoping for a swift resolution. Unfortunately, the manager’s response was defensive and accusatory. Rather than addressing the issue with empathy and professionalism, he insinuated that I was attempting to scam the hotel. Why would I want to pretend I have bed bugs? Why would I spend $800 on bed bug exterminators to get rid of them? I've never had to deal with bed bugs and would never ever want anyone to deal with this. His dismissive attitude and refusal to provide any help has left a really sour taste, deterring any desire to return. 😞 While the location initially appealed to us, the presence of bed bugs (ew ew ew), the smell of cigarettes in the room, coupled with poor customer service has dissuaded us from considering August Jack Motor Inn for future stays. You'll end up spending MORE money trying to get rid of bed bugs while trying to stay somewhere “affordable”. :(

We just spent an amazing night at the August Jack--I hadn't been there since last year and the improvements are wonderful! The lobby area is beautifully redone, our room was gorgeous and everything in the kitchenette was new and gleaming. The carpet was new and extremely clean, the bed was so comfortable, and our huge window had a lovely view of the mountains and the holiday decorations outside. We had a little trouble figuring out how to use Roku TV and ended up just watching YouTube on the in-room TV. Wifi was good, and the front desk service was impeccable--they even loaned us an umbrella to take a walk as it was raining. I will absolutely return to the August Jack again when I am in town in the future! Thank you Angela for caring and friendly service, and thank you Alex for your kindness and responsiveness! This motel is a hidden gem in Squamish and deserves all praise.

Great location close to downtown core

Liked the location in downtown Squamish. The room had been redone and belied the simple exterior of the building. The room was clean and bed comfy.

This property far exceeded my expectations. It has recently been renovated and my room featured unexpected amenities like stove burners, overhead fan, kitchen sink, and an electric water kettle. Staff were also super friendly and hospitable. It is clear that there is a lot of attention and energy being put into ensuring good guest experiences, and this property has a lot going for it over big chain hotels. Highly recommended!
