Stravithie Castle

We had a lovely stay at the castle. The castle has its own Charm and the owner gives you a small tour of the castle and he is really friendly. The breakfast could be a bit better but everything else was really good.

A terrific experience I will never forget! Very friendly hosts. Cold breakfast was provided in our kitchen. Toaster, kettle, stove and fridge provided. Spacious accomodation, large beds, very clean and tidy. Loved the location surrounded by nature. Cute, friendly dog. Hope I can stay there again sometime!

Stayed for two nights as we were in St Andrews for a wedding.The welcome from hosts, accommodation and location all superb. We had a room looking on to the garden which was beautiful. Would definitely recommend. 10/10

This quite a lovely property with great history. The owners are very nice and the communication was outstanding. Thank you for hosting us it was a memorable first stay in Scotland.

Oh my gosh, this place is a hidden gem. The pictures do NOT do it justice at all!! We were blown away by our accommodations when we arrived. First, we were just expecting a bedroom and bathroom. We got a lovely kitchen, a sitting room, giant bedroom, and a bathroom. They also provided a lovely breakfast spread each morning. Not only were we blown away by our accommodations, the entire castle is just stunning! Staying here was absolutely a highlight for us for a week long trip around Scotland. We will definitely return! Also, the hosts were incredibly kind and accommodating! It is only a short bus ride into town and you can flag down the bus from the driveway. Don’t second guess, just book!

Booked a last minute stay at Stravithie Castle and absolutely loved it! It is situated a ten minute drive from the lovely St Andrews where there’s so much to see and do. Lots of lovely restaurants, bars and shops. Some beautiful buildings and lots of history. We really enjoyed the atmosphere in the castle from the moment we arrived. David and Renata who live in the castle were perfect hosts, so friendly and helpful. Our accommodation was more than a bedroom, we had a suite! Large lounge and bedroom with a kitchen and shower room. It was decorated and furnished in keeping with a castle and very clean. Lovely fresh sheets on the huge comfortable bed. The views down to the river were gorgeous. Breakfast was continental and more than adequate. It was left for us in our kitchen each morning and we enjoyed the fact we could eat at any time in peaceful surroundings. It was very quiet as the road is a short distance away. Lovely grounds for a little walk and seats in the garden if you’re fortunate enough to have good weather. It was quite a unique experience staying in the castle instead of a hotel and we thought it was good value. We’d definitely stay again if visiting St Andrews. Thank you David and Renata!

The owner was friendly and offers great ideas of places nearby to see. Breakfast was continental, provided for us as self serve in our room. That was really nice as we had coffee when we wanted it and could move as quickly or slowly as we wished in the morning.

It's a lovely castle! While the tour of the castle was fun and very informative, the castle was by in large not accessible due to host living quarters. My wife and I would have liked to see more of the castle itself and have a historical handout to keep. Obviously, the castle was the highlight. While we stayed downstairs in the old kitchen, which was by the was a pleasant experience, we had a desire to sit in the library and have tea or coffee and absorb the ambiance.
