Hotel du Vin, St Andrews

What can I say… from the incredible staff who go above and beyond to make your stay feel special, to the fantastic food and drink, to the absolutely gorgeous rooms (the ‘Ma Bells’ room is just stunning), I genuinely can’t fault a single thing. I’ve decided that when I win the lottery, I’m moving in permanently. Beth at reception is just the best

It's always difficult to review a Hotel Du Vin, because we get what we expect from this chain - great hotels, great service and great food. This was our first time visiting the hotel in St. Andrews ( but we've been to many Hotel Du Vin's before ). We visited in late November, and the Christmas decorations were already up and they were very tastefully done. "Friendly, whilst professional" is something I look for quite a lot, and it was justified here in this hotel. Reception, waiters, bar staff, housekeeping, and even the night porter, were always cheery and had a greeting for us. We also dined in the Bistro, and again the food was excellent. The location of the hotel is overlooking the sea, but also just minutes away from the shops, bars and restaurants of St. Andrews. Certainly, this is a hotel we would choose again, if visiting St Andrews.

The amenities, location and the restaurant were just great. The best part is the staff, Kelsey, Beth, and Lyanna at the front desk were fabulous. Tom, Jazz, Abri, Erin Katrina in the restaurant did everything to make our meals awesome.

The review is for the restuarant/bistro as we were visiting from Ayrshire and brought aunt and uncle from oregon,USA for the day. We arrived early for your evening meal booking And the very attentive staff showed us selected table and alternative bar area to have previously dinner drinks as the table wasn't quite ready. Our fabulous booth table was at the window and Christopher and his team were so friendly and professional from the start of the evening and continued throughout our evening. The selection of food on the menu were fabulous and champagne and wine selection complimented our choices of pate,prawn cocktail and salmon for starters and duck,fish pie (I had to get help to finish this!)and turkey for our mains.The side orders were larger than expected.Fantastic meals. Our Aunt and Uncle raved about the service and how attentive the team was and very professional. Early on in the meal, a diner (who were in the bar area) was very rude and we could overhear the observations with the staff. I have to commend Christopher and other members of the waiting staff for their upmost professionalism responding to the diner and her son. We finished our meal with cheese and biscuits and a lovely touch was some lovely mince pies,and due to portion sizes of dinner,we were given a box to take home. Thank you once again for a lovely evening and hope to return soon for another lovely meal (and perhaps manage to stay the night!)

We had a truly wonderful stay here and felt incredibly well looked after throughout. Tara went above and beyond to make our visit special - she’s an absolute credit to the team. Thank you to everyone for making our time here so enjoyable.

Brilliant family week end away .. the team was superb and welcoming, the dining from diner to bar and breakfast was exceptional… attention to details in a professional manner. The room was superb and we managed to relax as a family. Andrei and the team couldn’t have done enough to make our stay as memorable as possible. Thank you we will be back soon, amazing hotel.
