Hyatt Place St George/Convention Center

Our room has two queen sizes (Queen size) and a sofa bed, which is also more spacious. There is a large free car park outside the hotel and parking is very convenient. The hotel facilities look quite new. The downside is that the noise in the room is a bit loud after the air conditioner starts. It is estimated that some people will be too noisy.

Havent had luck at marriott properties lately but not here. Got a very friendly and energetic greeting from Heidi during my check in. The ac in the room actually got the room cold and the shower had hot water. Breakfast was better than most. They still had a waffle maker. They also had fresh oatmeal. Note to ownership sugar in the raw is not brown sugar just because it's in a brown wrapper. Had to throw away the oatmeal without real brown sugar. Good locael with 3 types of restaurants next door

Needs better signage near the highway to let people know which exit to take. Conner was excellent by getting us moved when the air conditioner did not work properly. I think the hotel could do a better job when something is wrong with the room to give a free breakfast or other meal in the restaurant attached. I had to ask for that. We had another problem with the second room. Jeff the maintenance person came and got the issue in the bathroom fixed for us. I cannot say enough about these two people and their commitment to customer service. Jeff also brought us a snack for my grand daughter which was much appreciated. I am sure that was out of his pocket and my granddaughter liked it. Pool was pleasant. Restaurant was mediocre and the waitress had no idea what gluten free was or how to make substitutions to accommodate a person with dietary requirements. I would think training might come into play but... I am sure I do mot get paid to train the staff at restaurants, I should!
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham St. George

We usually love staying at La Quinta’s as they are always pet friendly, affordable and cozy. This La Quinta however doesn’t check those boxes unfortunately. For starters they charge a pet fee, which is unheard of for La Quinta’s, so be prepared for that. We booked the largest and priciest room as we like to give our dog some space after a long day in the car. The “suite” felt more like a hospital suite. Incredibly sterile, no warmth to it, in no way relaxing after a long day. It would probably help if they put in some softer lighting (currently has blueish florescent lighting)and a rug. Overall it’s “okay”, for what we ended up paying on an off season Tuesday, we won’t be back. Especially now that they are charging for pets, we’ll be taking our 30+ hotel nights a year back to Hilton properties.

Very new, great value-for-money hotel, warm and sincere reception, good breakfast and rich fruits. Although not in the city, it is convenient to drive anywhere, so it is highly recommended
Hilton Garden Inn St. George

I travel to St George several times a year for work. I usually stay at the Hampton Inn because it’s closer to my meetings. As a Diamond member I stay exclusively at Hiltons and I wanted to try this hotel thinking it would be a bit better stay. Man was I wrong. The staff was friendly but that’s about it. The room was dated. The bed was very uncomfortable, and every time we turned the water on in the bathroom sink there was a strong sulfur(rotten egg) smell. The AC would randomly go off and the room would heat up to almost 80 then kick on. Seemed to always be people drinking outside the front door. The Hampton is cheaper and yet they still provide a free breakfast. Definitely won’t be staying here again. Seems like Hilton might be losing their touch. As other chains are adding to their loyalty programs Hilton is taking them away.
