The hotel is old, don't have expectations, the room facilities are similar to express hotels, and the location is average. What I saw when I checked in did not match the Ctrip promotional pictures at all. The windows can only be opened a little bit, so you can't see the outside, it's stuffy

A beautiful building and a very British atmosphere. English breakfast, but no beans… A bit far from the center of Saint Helier, it takes about 20 minutes to walk.

The hotel is ideally situated for St Helier. The staff are friendly and attentive. Rooms are comfortable and the Spa is a delight. I visit Jersey regularly and this is the Hotel of choice I stay at. It like Jersey is a gem. Another great stay with friends for whom it was their first visit. They were impressed with the Hotel.

An immaculately clean hotel with a very warm welcome. Stayed for four nights in a very comfortable single room. Ensuite bathroom was plenty big enough and spotless. Daily cleaning service kept the room in top class condition. Breakfast was continental in style and fresh with a good range of choice. There were additional items which could be ordered in addition. I didn't use any of the other facilities, so cannot comment, however they seemed plentiful: gym, spa, swimming pool, wellness centre... Approximately 15 minute walk (I walk quite fast) into St Helier to the main street/20 mins to Liberation Square and the central bus station from where you may catch a bus to many of the key sites on the Island.

On the website this hotel looks really impressive and almost regal and one expects to experience pretty much the lap of luxury. What a disappointment then to arrive and find that the hotel is covered in scaffolding and is hidden away behind an office block and can't even be seen from the road. On entering the hotel, nothing really improves. The decor is extremely dated and actually rather depressing, everything is painted a drab magnolia and the furniture clearly hasn't been replaced since about 1980 (at the latest!). It is like walking into a set from an Eastern European Cold War movie. The lady on reception was very welcoming however, and efficient. Our room was spacious and clean but like everything else was painted in drab beige and with square boxy furniture and virtually no amenities at all; no air conditioning, no iron, no fridge, no mini-bar, no charging points or USB points. The windows have an opaque film on them which prevents you from looking outside - quite bizarre - perhaps another throwback to 1970s East Germany? Perhaps they don't want you to spot the Stasi lurking in the garden? The bar extends the Cold War vibe, although they do do fab cocktails. The spa is nice and we had a great massage. I can only assume that the spa is what keeps this relic from another era going. Breakfast was OK'ish, although the hot spread was poor quality. The continental breakfast consisted of tiny plastic dishes with either two miniscule slices of dried out cold meat (rather resembling MDF) or else a couple of slivers of dried out cheese. Very uninspiring. The hotel is about a 15-20 minute walk into the town centre and there is a very steep hill up to the hotel from the main road - this would present a real problem for anyone with mobility issues. We definitely will not be returning, although would probably use the spa again, in the unlikely even that we ever find ourselves in Jersey on a rainy Tuesday afternoon, in mid-winter, with nothing else to do.

We have just had another most fabulous overnight stay, including the 7 course taster menu. We love the spa room, for the large space, including bathroom, balcony overlooking St Helier. Having access to the spa facilities make this a favourite for us and has everything you need. We usually have a treatment, but booked last minute, so have an excuse to do that another time. We were looking forward to the 7 course taster menu, which did not disappoint. Flavours, presentation and we were too full for the final course. Service was excellent and the staff showed so much passion for giving great service. We can't wait to come back.

What a fantastic couple of nights away 😀staff were absolutely amazing, hotel gorgeous. The customer service was outstanding, particularly Emily in the bar/restaurant who went out of her way to ensure we had a great time. The team could not do enough for us. So many good things to say in probably don’t have enough space to write. Would highly recommend the Taste of Jersey tasting menu (as recommended to us by the wonderful Emily), everything was fantastic, fresh and delicious, and absolutely worth the money 👍, cocktails are delicious, the views from the balcony rooms are stunning 🤩 although it says its 20-25 minute walk into St Helier town, its a nice easy stroll, the facilities are fantastic, but for us, the customer service from all the team (reception, cleaning staff, bar/restaurant staff, especially Emily) absolutely made our stay so special. Thank you all so much 😃

I didn’t stay at the hotel, I was residing at a nearby establishment but as the bar and restaurant where I was staying looked underwhelming I decided to see what The Hotel de France had to offer. The hotel itself is very nicely decorated, and pleasant. On entering the reception area you go up a wooden staircase and along a long corridor until you reach the bar. The selection of liquor and beers is very good and there is a decent wine list. For dinner I chose the homemade gravalax, the ballotine of chicken, and the jersey black butter pudding and all three were delicious. Service throughout was attentive. Overall a top notch meal.
