In order not to judge in emotion, I have taken my time to write my impressions here today. It was already the end of May 2023 when I visited the Landhaus zu Appesbach restaurant in St. Wolfgang on Lake Wolfgang with my family, the four of us including our baby. An experience of a special kind, believe me, it was like being in seventh heaven. At the Landhaus zu Appesbach you are not just a guest, no, you are a friend and, to put it simply, you feel great and very welcome. The staff, and here I would like to particularly highlight Mr. Thomas Peterseil and Christopher Pinegger, are something very special in their friendliness and courtesy, there are only a few establishments in Austria that can boast of such friendly staff. The food and wine recommendations of the two gentlemen were so perfect that we immediately emptied two bottles of the ones recommended to us. The dishes by Thomas Höfler and Lucas Mitter are second to none. Fresh, wonderfully prepared regionally and very cleverly presented on the plate, the culinary delight could no longer be stopped. I can only say one thing, once Appesbach, always Appesbach. I hope the management never loses these four gentlemen that we got to know, they are simply great and wonderful. The guest is king here. The Landhaus Appesbach on Lake Wolfgangsee is a place of relaxation, joy and a particularly beautiful place. Restaurant manager Thomas and his team always pamper guests in the restaurant area with a fantastic terrace over the lake. The Wiener Schnitzel in particular is excellent. In the beach area, Horst and his team make a visit to the beach bar, which is beautifully located on the lake, something special. Ceviche and various types of pide are particularly recommended. Ich war das erste Mal seit Übernahme durch Red Bull im Landhaus zur Appesbach. So ganz verstehen kann ich nicht, warum hier jemand eine schlechte Bewertung abgibt. Okay als Alleinreisende kommt man schnell in den Verdacht, ein Restauranttester zu sein. Mir hat es sensationell gut gefallen. Mittags war ich in der Stendbar auf eine Kleinigkeit. Pide mit Saibling. Dazu einen frischen grünen Veltliner. Abends war ich dann im Restaurant. Beim Brot hatte ich zuerst gedacht, es wäre aus der gleichen Bäckerei wie das vom Hangar-7. Ich wurde allerdings belehrt, dass es sich um Brot aus einer regionalen Bäckerei handelt. Ich zur Vorspeise hatte ich eine Fischsuppe von regionalen Fischen. Dazu Weißbrot mit Sc. Rouille. Danach ein hervorragendes Stundenei mit Saiblings Kaviar. Als Hauptgang bin ich der Empfehlung des Restaurantleiters gefolgt und habe black Angus von einem regionalen Züchter gewählt. Dazu eine fantastische Sauce und Kartoffel Gratin. Auch in Sterne Läden bekommt man das Fleisch nicht immer Medium rare. Hier war es allerdings genau so wie bestellt. Der Restaurant Leiter hat mich hervorragend hinsichtlich der Weine beraten. Der Honivogel 2019 war letztlich perfekt temperiert. Danach gab es noch eine Flasche Süßwein aus dem Haus Kracher, Jahrgang 2009. meine Flaschen stand nicht auf der Weinkarte, da diese grade überarbeitet wurde. Meine Empfehlung: einfach den Service fragen. Dessert und Pralinen haben den Abend abgerundet. Jetzt liege ich gerade gemütlich in meiner Suite und höre dem Salzburger Schnürl-Regen zu.
