Attended a friends wedding at this venue. The grounds are stunning and the staff are super friendly. The hotel itself could do with a bit of modernising and the addition of air conditioning is needed for the warm days. The food and bar is lovely. The views that the hotel affords are stunning. A hard walk down to the seals is well worth the hike. But is not for people with mobility issues or a faint heart. Overall a lovely hotel and superb staff.

Food exquisite. Evening (all male) service polite but shoddy. Reece was only decent member of staff. Breakfast staff (females) were outstanding. Not entirely sure why Jacob was just wandering round and round? Room was lovely, except it needed a table in the lounge area. If a solo traveller is listed as dinner and breakfast then there should be a table set for 1 person on both occasions!

Travelled solo and asked for a quiet room With a view. I was given room 306 on the 3rd floor. All I can say is amazing! It was so lovely and peaceful. The staff were really friendly and breakfast was great. Thank you so much for an amazing stay. Wish I’d booked longer now.

We did not stay on this occasion but have done on numerous occasions in the past. We popped in for breakfast. The staff could not have been more accommodating. They made such a fuss of our son ensuring we all had everything we required . Great end to our holiday! Has encouraged us to stay again soon. Thank you !

Appalling experience, they changed our room allocation giving far inferior rooms and forced us to accept the change due to a long journey to get there and limited options for alternative accommodation. Will never stay there again and I advise anyone staying to check and double check their booking. A reduced rate does not go anywhere close to the anger and disappointment of a carefully planned family get together for our daughters birthday being ruined by the hotels cavalier attitude to room allocation! There was a wedding on and I can only presume they took priority on all room bookings. Follow up complaint landed on deaf ears with the manager. They really couldn’t care less!

We stay in March and we had a wonderful stay it was foggy and raining but don’t let the weather put you off staying here. It was magical looking over the bay in the rain and mist. Staff are fantastic we stayed in the lodge and ordered room service which was delicious and arrived piping hot and restaurant quality. Rooms are lovely and clean with super comfy beds. Stayed with our 3 year old and he loved running round the grounds. Great base for visiting Whitby and robin hoods bay

Can't fault this hotel had a lovely 2 day Easter weekend . Everything was excellent. Was even able to book the pool to ourselves. Food / drinks were nice if a little bit pricy . Menu was OK but same standard each time . The first nights meal was faultless . Sadly, the second night as the menu was the same ivwent for a bacon chop with chips and salad ( not the hotels fault, my husband had the same thing and enjoyed it. But too salty for me i don't like a lot of salty foods ) so the waiter/ manager gave us a complimentary dessert on him . They didn't have to . Definitely booking for next year. Lovely view from room in hotel. Good base for travelling to Scarborough. Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Staithes. We had breakfast at the hotel which had a variety of choices. We also chose from the bar menu in the evening. Lovely sitting next to the fire. The hotel is dated and the lift wasn't working. However all staff were very polite and friendly, especially Dan. I was also able to book for the pool and had the pool to myself.
