Residence Inn Stamford Downtown

Newer property, so in good shape. The breakfast is a joke (eggs and sausage, or rubber egg and sausage bagel). Construction on the road to the valet (temporary), the room was not cleaned well and the heat would not change the temperature of the room.

The hotel room ventilation system was extremely loud, like sitting next to a turbine jet engine. We were told that the whole hotel was like that. We did not sleep well. The hotel breakfast selection was not great. We came in town for my son's sports competition event. The washers and dryers were there, but not working. It was not a pleasant stay compared with our past good experience with Residence Inn.

This was one of my most pleasurable hotel stays via the thousands of places I've been. When I was there at the hotel was spotless. When I arrive to my sweet there was a bottle of wine and treats waiting for me. That was totally unexpected. The service was top notch from the front desk, to the cleaning service. Nice modern hotel. I think the Marriott overall for stepping up their game and improving their hotel greatly.

The first thing is there was no place to park in order to register, I had to park illegally and take a chance on getting a ticket. The check in was great the staff at the front desk, were 2 of the best staff members I’ve ever met at any Bon Voy property. The nigh**are began when I was told T it cost $16 to park, that part I didn’t mind it was where I had to park that was the problem. Parking was valet (only), and was around the corner ( on a 1 way street) at the Courtyard by Marriott. This was not mentioned in the reservations. Once you parked you had to walk they an open area in order to get to the Residence Inn that was only the beginning. The reservations advertised a swimming pool and hot tub, what it didn’t mention was there was no hot tub or pool in the residence inn, if you wanted to swim or use the hot tub you had to walk they an open air space to get to the Courtyard. So after swimming one would have to brave the elements wrapped in a towel in order to get back to their room at the residence inn. I have to say that as a Titanium Memeber I will NEVER STAY AT THIS property again. This property sits in beautiful downtown Stamford yet parking is hazardous to me the Residence inn is falsely advertising the pool and hot tub location. One last thing else and I understand this, I asked if I could get a shot glass from the bar, I was told no, but I could buy a shot at the bar (Really). Like I said the only thing that made this trip not a total flop was the front desk staff

This is a great place to stay! It’s clean, fresh, & modern. The valet guys are awesome. I’ve been staying here long term in a business trip, and it’s close to all of the restaurants.

Clean, modern facility with a beautiful layout. Bedding is amazing

Good breakfast. Downfall was housekeeping only every other day and late in the day.
