"The rooms are modern, spotlessly clean, and wonderfully comfortable. They're equipped with smart appliances, and the projector was such a hit with the kids that they didn't even want to leave the room to explore the sights! The location is also super convenient, right near Guishan Park.
But what truly made our stay exceptional was the service. The owner himself personally handled our station transfers, and the proprietress was incredibly warm and meticulous, helping us plan our itinerary and arrange transportation.
Breakfast was delicious and had such a homely feel. We received welcome fruits upon check-in and even a thoughtful parting gift upon departure. This was truly the warmest and most welcoming accommodation experience!"

Traveling to the hotel is easy with Shangri La Airport located approximately 5km away and Shangri-la Railway Station roughly 7km away. There is no shortage of things to see in the area, with the Shambhala Tibetan Culture Museum, Dafo Temple Prayer Wheel and Baita Temple all nearby. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. Our guests consider this hotel to have excellent service. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling with families.
"The inn is located within the ancient town, which has cobblestone streets that are quite difficult to walk on (I admit, carrying my own luggage out was exhausting). The owner contacted us beforehand, and we got off at the spot she mentioned. Then, she picked us up on a tricycle, and we arrived in just 3-4 minutes.
During check-in, the owner took our IDs and gave us card sleeves, which was very thoughtful. She was also very kind.
There's a platform on the second floor where you can see the prayer wheel.
The ancient town isn't very large; we finished exploring it in about two hours. In the evening, we visited Moonlight Square and Guishan Park, which were both lively and atmospheric.
When we returned in the evening, we found fruit left by the owner.
The night was very quiet, but since it was my first time in Shangri-La, I experienced altitude sickness – I couldn't sleep, felt uncomfortable and agitated. I recommend inhaling oxygen for an hour before bed and avoiding showering on your first visit, as altitude sickness is no joke."

"I brought my family here for a holiday visit. The private courtyard we booked was incredibly comfortable and certainly didn't disappoint. Firstly, I absolutely loved the ambiance; the courtyard felt so cozy and tranquil. The hostess has a super cute dog that the kids absolutely adored, and the dog (named Hongli) was incredibly friendly with everyone. The service was excellent, too. All in all, we were extremely satisfied! A small detail that really impressed me was how impeccably clean the bathroom was and how wonderfully fresh it smelled – a truly thoughtful touch. The hostess even took us mushroom picking in the mountains, which was an absolute highlight! We also had the option to cook, and the hostess's own cooking was absolutely phenomenal. She used homegrown ingredients, making everything taste incredibly delicious. I highly, highly recommend this place! It was by far the most comfortable and relaxing guesthouse we stayed at during our Yunnan trip; it truly felt like a home away from home."

"A very satisfying stay! The room is well-equipped with oxygen supply machine, floor heating and projection. Someone came to pick us up when we arrived. It is very close to the north gate of the ancient city, which is convenient for travel and there are many places to eat nearby, but it is very quiet at night. The boss lady answered all my questions and answered my phone calls very late several times (T.T). On the last day, we had their homemade breakfast. The butter tea and barley cakes were better than what we had outside!"

"This is definitely a treasure B&B in the ancient city. My friends and I searched and compared many B&Bs and finally chose this one🤩
The location is excellent: the B&B is located in the middle of the ancient city. It is convenient to go anywhere. It is not facing the street. It is in a small alley, just around the corner. This makes the B&B very quiet and not deep.
The environment is great: the B&B is decorated and furnished like a ******* house. We booked a double bed room with a view. We can see the Great Buddha Temple outside the window of the room, which makes us feel particularly happy. There are small tables and chairs on the first and second floors where you can sit leisurely.
The service is very considerate: when I arrived, I went to the north gate of the ancient city and the boss came to pick me up on a tricycle. The roads in the ancient city were not easy to drag luggage with, so it was the first time I experienced the feeling of riding a tricycle. The boss is very talkative and very nice.
Supplement: Let me talk about the butter tea and highland barley wine that I saw in the reviews before booking. We have tasted butter tea from 4-5 stores in the past few days. The butter tea made by the boss is really the best in the ancient city. Because he uses fresh walnut kernels to grind them, he will wait for the butter tea made by the boss after 10 o'clock every night. It was my first time to taste highland barley wine. It was very fragrant and sweet. The local highland barley beer is also delicious. The boss has three pets, two cats and a dog. He especially likes this silly blue cat, which is cute and chubby.

They thoughtfully provided snacks like Snickers bars, understanding that guests might feel hungry more easily at high altitude. The service was exceptionally attentive and genuinely warm. Parking in the old town can be quite challenging due to the busy, congested streets, so the owner even went out of their way to have a relative help us park, which was a huge relief and incredibly considerate. Even the felt keychain was a delightful touch. The location is fantastic, very close to Guishan Park, making it super convenient for getting around."

"The room has floor-to-ceiling windows, it is spacious, bright, comfortable and warm, better than the one in the ancient city. The hotel in the ancient city looks good outside, but the room is small inside, there is no space for a suitcase, it is better to live in such a B&B, and the location is also in the ancient city, it is convenient and quiet, the boss is also very hospitable, and has its own fleet to help arrange tours. 這次入住真的被民宿老闆的熱情徹底圈粉！我是被我姐強烈推薦的這家在獨克宗古城內的民宿，民宿老闆卓瑪姐從預訂時就主動詢問我們的行程，到店後不僅詳細講解了香格里拉超實用的旅遊攻略，連小眾打卡點和避坑指南都傾囊相授，比做的攻略還靠譜。
最暖心的是剛放下行李，老闆就端來了熱乎乎的氂牛奶，喝完整個人都暖乎乎的，瞬間驅散了旅途疲憊。民宿裏的設施更是驚喜，全屋都是智能家居，燈光、窗簾語音就能控制，操作起來特別方便；而且傢俱全是嶄新的，質感很好，看得出來老闆在裝修上花了不少心思，住起來既舒適又有科技感。
推窗見景還超貼心，這家民宿直接封神！
這次住的房間真的把“景觀房”的優勢拉滿了，清晨拉開厚重的遮光簾，眼前的畫面瞬間讓人屏住呼吸：正對面就是鬱鬱葱葱的龜山公園，山頂的大轉經筒清晰得彷彿觸手可及，尤其是傍晚時分，夕陽灑在經筒上泛着暖光，連公園裡轉經的人羣都能隱約看見，不用擠在觀景台人堆裏，在房間裏就能靜賞這份獨特的景緻，隨手拍的照片發朋友圈被問爆地址。
更讓人感動的是民宿的細節貼心。考慮到當地的氣候和海拔，房間裏提前準備好了製氧機，老闆特意過來教我們使用方法，夜裡偶爾有點缺氧時打開，很快就舒服多了；衣櫃裏還掛着免費提供的厚實羽絨服，款式簡潔乾淨，完全不用自己揹着厚重衣物佔行李，出門逛公園、看經筒時穿上，防風又保暖。這份把客人需求想到前頭的用心，比風景更讓人覺得温暖，真心推薦給來這邊的朋友！
退房離開時，老闆還特意準備了當地藏族特色禮物金剛結送我和女朋友，説是一點心意，這份用心真的太戳人了。全程體驗下來，不僅住得舒服，更像在朋友家做客一樣自在，已經推薦給計劃來玩的朋友，下次再來一定還選這裏！

MM786608****We traveled all the way from Kunming to Dali, Lijiang, and then Shangri-La, and Shangri-La was absolutely the best experience!!! The proprietress is super beautiful and has such a great personality. She helped us with our luggage when we arrived and when we left, and she was always busy preparing breakfast every morning. The room was also kept exceptionally clean. Every time we returned to the guesthouse, it felt just like coming home. It was really hard to leave; we were so sad to say goodbye to Shangri-La and to the proprietress 😭. I truly recommend it wholeheartedly! 👍❗️ I will definitely go back to Shangri-La, and next time I'll stay at her guesthouse again! (I had so much fun that I forgot to take pictures of the guesthouse, so I can only include three breakfast photos taken by my greedy little foodie! 😅)

GGuest UserWe book for 2 night stay here and extend for one more night. We really love the ambient of the hotel. They had a small beautiful yard/ garden welcoming you to the hotel. You even get free flow of mineral water and can borrow their cowboy hats. Haha
Our room comes with one stand heater, warm blanket and air conditioner ( can set until 30•C). Enough to warm both of us. Shangrila is quite cold compared to other city we visited in Yunan. The location really strategic. Walking distance to East gate of Dukezong City where scenic bus station located and not far from Dufeng Prayer Wheel. If you take bus from Tina, the first stop at Shangri-La city only walking distance to the hotel. If you take DiDi, the car can send you to the hotel without much walking. Within 500m, you can find 4 halal restaurants. If you want to go to Xiangyang farm product market (you can find halal bakery here) it’s just 1 km walk. Along the walk, you can find a local park with clear water and beautiful view.
Owner very helpful. Despite the language barrier, he tried all he can to help us. We planned to go to Balagezong on second day but really clueless since not much information on the internet. Mostly people went there via travel agency. With his help, we manage to secure ticket to the national park. He and his wife even walk us to the bus station where we need to catch the bus the next early morning.
On the last day here, owner even offered to send us to the railway station. On the way to the station, he stopped by a ******* restaurant and get us some delicious warm yak milk and ghee tea (we should try earlier. This one very delicious 🤤). That’s really generous of him. If we were coming back to Shangrila again, we would book this hotel again without doubt.

GGuest UserThis trip to Tiger Leaping Gorge is very worthwhile. The happiest and happiest thing is to meet Tingtao Yage. There were many children staying that day. Our children had a lot of fun and were super happy. They didn't want to leave. The daughter of the owner of Tingtao Yage is only eight years old. She is super capable. She serves tea and water to guests and looks like an adult. I must give her a thumbs up. Their service is really great. They took the initiative to call us, carefully explained the precautions, added WeChat, and informed us of the road conditions in time. It was no problem to drive slowly on the rural road that was a few hundred meters into the village. The room was very clean, the quilt was dry, and I slept very comfortably. You can eat the fruits on the trees at will. They are a super generous family. If I have time in the future, I will definitely come here and stay for a few months.

PPoBoxEarthTibeT guest house is a place where you arrive and feel part of the family. It's 3 generations living there. The 88 year old gramma is always smiling. The mother and father get most of their food from their nearby garden. Very hardworking and kind people. We enjoyed free walnuts, apples and pears that are in season now.
The son picked us up in a Tesla(!) from the bus station (below Tina's GH) free of charge. (See photo) You can call the phone number (via Trip.com) to let them know that you've arrived. They speak a little English. (We sent them an email via Trip.com to give them our WeChat contact which is easier than trying to talk on the phone).
We got one of the newer rooms on the 3rd floor with great views and outdoor seating too.
The bed is very comfortable!
The food is great! Breakfast is included and substantial and tasty. Flatbread, hard boiled eggs, potato and corn.
They have a large menu including some ******* influenced dishes. Milk dregs in butter was a first...a sour and sweet soy bean spread. Corn pancake, stir-fried fresh mushrooms plus lots of regular Chinese dishes and even yak meat! The coldest beer we've had in China! The dining area is cosy.

The nearby hike down to the river is great. 1 hour each way. You can arrange a mule ride, if you are short of time or not fit. There's a guy at the junction to the trail after you pass by most of the local houses.
We also arranged for the son to drive us to Naxi Village to start a 2 day trek (28 bends). We paid 150 RMB. It's a really rough road and took about 30 mins to get there. Thankfully, we started up higher so we could make it to Half way House in 1 day.
They also can arrange private transfers to other cities like Shangrila or Lijiang.
We stayed 2 nights and it was hard to leave this lovely homestay.

AAdah_douThe hotel's location is super convenient, right at the start of the hiking trail. The free parking is ample, and the courtyard has a really unique layout. You can sunbathe on the second floor and watch the high-speed rail bridge in the distance. From the third floor, you get a beautiful view of the snow-capped mountains. The owner is very welcoming, and the food at the inn is delicious.

AAnonymous UserWe had a wonderful stay! The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for a night’s rest after hiking. The receptionist even helped us arrange to send our luggage to Tina Youth Hostel. The mountain view from our balcony was absolutely stunning! The restaurant stops taking orders around 8 PM, but even though we arrived a bit late, they still prepared dinner for us — such great hospitality. You can also buy bus tickets to Lijiang directly from the hotel, which was very convenient. The hotel is close to Halfway Guesthouse. Highly recommended, and we’d love to stay here again next time!
