GGuest UserIt was a fabulous short stay, the room was very spacious with a large bathroom too. There's lots of cupboard space for storage, bedding is great, soft duvet and pillows. The shower jet is strong, the walls and floor are very clean, the hotel just opened about half a year ago. Everything works. The location is far from the centre, no decent restaurants or shopping areas nearby unless taking a Grab or hotel shuttle to the city center. SKS shopping city attached to the hotel is known to be opening soon in May 2026. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is nice, with a large selection of very fresh food. The swimming pool is beautiful with lukewarm temperature even at evening.

AAnonymous UserEverything was good, except the check-in process. It wasn’t easy to find the place to collect the key, and after that I had to walk through the car park to look for the lobby. Now that I’m familiar with the check-in process, I wouldn’t mind coming back again.

One of the water heater broke down and host replaced a complete set.
Location is good for us as we have transport to go around JB. There is a public bus service from the hotel that goes to Singapore so that is good also.

TTentenAmaiodinThe unit is spacious, clean and comfortable. The bed is bouncy and we slept well. The place also comes with useful amenities like a fridge, electric stove, oven, iron and hair dryer. However, there is no water dispenser or water filter provided. Basic utensils such as plates, spoons and bread knives are available, but there are no forks, bowls or other cooking tools, so you may need to bring your own or purchase separately if you plan to cook.
The downside was the check-in experience. We were only given the access card without the bedroom key, and ended up stuck outside for almost an hour trying to figure out how to enter. The owner’s response was quite late, which made the situation frustrating. The TV in the room was also not functioning. On the positive side, the owner did allow a late check-out at 1pm.
Overall, the stay was comfortable after settling in, but the initial access issue and late response affected the first impression.

The hotel is nestled within the Forest City Golf Resort, right next to two 18-hole international golf courses. It's about a 30-minute drive from Johor Bahru city center and only 30 kilometers from Singapore Airport, making it ideal for travelers looking to escape the hustle and bustle and immerse themselves in nature and golf.
Room Experience
The rooms are spacious with comfortable ceiling heights that don't feel cramped. Large floor-to-ceiling windows and balconies offer expansive views directly onto the lush golf course. Some rooms even come with bathtubs. The cleanliness was impeccable, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the bathroom featured a convenient wet/dry separation. The free WiFi was stable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly – all the little details were well thought out.
Facilities and Services
The hotel boasts an outdoor pool by the lake, offering beautiful scenery. It’s uncrowded and peaceful, perfect for families with kids. The 24-hour gym is well-equipped, so you can work out whenever you want. The front desk service was efficient, and communication in Chinese was seamless – truly a fantastic experience. They also offer golf buggy shuttle service, making it easy to get between the course and the hotel.
Dining and Surroundings
The buffet breakfast offered a wide variety of options, including Chinese, Western, and local specialties, all delicious and catering to different tastes. While the surrounding area isn't densely packed with amenities, there's an affordable supermarket and Chinese restaurants, covering basic needs. It’s very convenient if you're driving, and nearby attractions include Legoland and the Marina Beach Park, great for family outings.
With its tranquil environment, superb golf course views, and attentive service, this hotel is a rare gem for a peaceful retreat near Johor Bahru, Malaysia. It's highly recommended for golf lovers, families, and anyone looking to relax and unwind, offering excellent value for money.

JJanBernedetteRoom was spacious for the two of us, and we loved chilling on the sofa every night, snacking on chips and pizza while casting our favourite movies. The bathroom was clean with no complaints, and although the beds moved a little when sitting on them, they were comfortable when lying still, so it didn’t bother us.
The lifts were quite slow and often busy, so we had to wait a fair bit, but the 24‑hour lobby staff were very friendly and always ready to help. The location was the highlight: a supermarket right opposite, plenty of eateries along both streets, and just a short walk down to Bondi Beach, one of Sydney’s most famous surfing and swimming spots.
Although the hotel isn’t directly sea‑facing, it feels nicely tucked into the Bondi vibe, surrounded by cafés, shops and the lively coastal atmosphere. Overall, it was a great stay and a cozy, reasonably priced option for anyone wanting easy access to the beach and local food scene.

BBingBaiThis guesthouse is incredibly unique and full of character. I never expected to find something like this in JB! It's quite true to the pictures, though the photos have a stronger ambiance and make it look newer than it is; in reality, some of the in-room facilities are a bit old.
The ceilings are high and the balcony is very spacious, offering views of the sea, Singapore, and Malaysia simultaneously. The guesthouse is located in a high-end residential building, with excellent security downstairs and very good service. You need to pick up the key from the mezzanine floor beforehand, which is quite convenient. Each room comes with a free parking space, so parking is very easy.
However, it does suffer from the common guesthouse issue of poor sound insulation. It seems like a whole apartment has been divided into two, as we could always hear sounds from next door. Also, the projector's clarity was very low. And the toilet paper quality was quite poor; it would be great if conditioner could also be provided. The host's responses on WhatsApp were pretty prompt, and most issues were dealt with immediately.
Overall, it's very well-designed and quite quirky, definitely worth a stay. But for this price point, I would hope for better quality in some of the amenities.
