I stayed three nights in the Chapter House Boutique Hotel by The Living Journey Collection on May of 2024. I liked so much the stay, but I was robbed an amount of more than $1.000 dollars, that were inside my backpack in the bedroom closet. I communicated the manager of the hotel, but he didn’t gave me any answers.

Highly recommend this beautiful boutique hotel. Nothing is too much trouble for this amazing team. Rooms are delightful and cozy. A stones though away from the village. Chapter House is a place we will visit again and always recommend. Grab a daily piece of delicious cake with compliments. The staff are probably some of the best most welcoming I have ever experienced. Thank you so much for making our visit so warm and special.

The only disappointment was a lack of a fridge in the room, that would have made it perfect.

Nice traditional hotel. Lovely room with everything you need. Good breakfast and nice pool area. Great location for main town restaurants (2 min walk) and wine tram tickets/station (5-10min walk) Although we enjoyed our stay the staff didn’t interact. Having stayed at another of there hotels the day before in Hermanus where we had exceptional service, we expected the same. It felt like there was never anyone around. No bar area as such, so was difficult to get a drink either by the pool or in the evening. Enjoyed our stay and it worked well for what we needed.

We stayed for 4 nights in March. I would call Chapter House more of a BnB rather than a hotel. It is situated in a quiet street one street back from the Main Street so everything is within walking distance. The breakfast was good and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was in the old part of the building and we had people passing by our one window/door continually so we had to keep the blind down. I would suggest requesting a room in the newer part of the building.

Chapter House Boutique Hotel in Franschoek, lovingly restored and developed by the talented Friedrich and Lorraine Schaefer, of Living Journey Collection - beautiful boutique properties also in Stellenbosch and Cape Town. In fact our first night was so good we decided to stay on for a second night! In so doing we got to experience rooms in both the new development and the original house. Both exude equal charm, character and understated luxury.

Loved the hotel! Great vibe, excellent staff and clean and comfortable rooms. Very conveniently situated close to the town centre, but not too close. There is also a nice swimming pool area to cool off and relax!

The hotel was very centrally located within walking distance to loads of nice cafes and restaurants in Franschhoek. The staff is friendly and rooms were spacious and nice.
