Hotel & Restaurant Christkindlwirt

I was here for coffee only. It is the only place you can actually go as far as we could make out. There was a closed museum, a closed shop and something akin to a garden shed in the hotel entrance which was apparently the magical Christkindl post office. Anyhow, we wanted to send a Christkindl postcard to a friend's son, so I bought the overpriced thing in the mini hotel gift shop. My Mum wanted to buy a couple of cards too (I got there a few minutes earlier) and she had to wait for ages for someone to take her money. I asked the owner's son and he said we would have to wait for his Mum to turn up. If it hadn't been the only option, we would have gone. After a few minutes, the owner turned up and we went to drink coffee there and write our cards (which didn't turn up anyway, so we could have saved ourselves this whole ridiculous performance). We waited and waited and the owner's son looked at us and let us sit there. Then a woman came in and he leapt up to serve her. The only good thing about the place was the waiter - Manuel. He was very friendly and was the one smile we saw at that place that day.

Charming hotel, and has a nice view from the top hill looking down. No issues staying and my room came w/ a balcony which was a big perk. Staff members are friendly and the morning breakfast was quite good. It was a hot day in Steyr reaching near 27-29c, and the room stayed warm till evening. Having balcony worked well, I stayed out in balcony often where gentle breeze was very enjoyable. But I can see anything above 27c, you may need some patience till the room cools down in the evening. The price was right for the room and the service was good. The check in time starts at 2pm which is a bonus. There is a church located right next to the hotel, worth checking out. Free parking is offered, but the area is about 100 meters away. There is paid parking spots in front of hotel, you can park up to 1hour free which works out for checking in and unloading your luggages. I parked my car for 20min in the paid lot and ended up moving it to a remote lot. No issues. I’d stay again.

Very nice, clean hotel in beuatiful location. Excellent digestive kitchen. Friendly staff in hotel. Tha spa area with wiev on the rocks was the most impressive experience. Old historical city within walking distance. I recommended your hotel to our friends and we would like to come again.

Our 3 night stay was great at these premises and we have enjoyed packege for 2 which is offered by hotel and we made prolongation for one more night. Wellness area is nice for relaxing time and top was our dinner at restaurant! It was very tasty and delicious course of menu. It's very close to Steyr downtown by nice 20 min. walk or you can use hotel's complimentary car transportation. Staff was very kinds to us and always ready to help or give us advise. We recommend this hotel very much.

Excellent This hotel was a pleasant surprise, it exceeded the best expectations. Really excellent. Quiet location just outside the city, fantastic location and facility, very nice room, friendly staff and great breakfast. I will definitely overnight here again during the next trip in that region.
