Have stayed here numerous time before but this was a total shocker.The room (225)which is classed as a double was the worst room we have ever stayed in.I have uploaded pictures but a summary is stained chair,stained and torn curtains,glass had lipstick round it,coffee cup had coffee ring stain,the bathroom light was out,bathroom so narrow at points you have to turn sideways,no place for toiletries,cracked sink,dirty bath and there was a constant noise from a generator.Tried calling reception but no answer so had to go down to it were we were told there was no other room! Made sure the duty manager was aware but nothing was done.We stayed the two nights but made a hasty exit quickly on the second morning.I have even sent an e mail to the hotel with the pictures but there has been no reply and that was 6 days ago.

The staff were also so friendly and helpful. Dinner was good and breakfast was also very good. Had a great nights sleep in a comfy bed and comfy pillows

Had another great stay , been several times and a great location great facilities and really friendly staff.!! Great way to start the day by taking a swim and going in the sauna and steam room before a fantastic breakfast!! Dunblane town is definitely worth a visit and lots of history with the cathedral and library. Highly recommend a stay . Look forward to our next stay . Leigh & Sharon

The Doubletree Dunblane Hydro is a pleasant hotel housed in a building with a lot of history. It feels very grand on the approach. Overall the facilities on offer were enjoyed by us. We thought the breakfast buffet was very good with a wide selection of food. Service in the restaurant was efficient although perhaps a little distant. By that I mean that the staff did not seek to engage with us over three visits. A “how is everything”or “can I get you another coffee” goes a long way. The room we stayed in was nice however the shower over bath was not liked by us. We found the bath narrow and to be honest we did not feel terribly safe standing in the narrow bath to shower. The bed was up to the usual Hilton high standard and we enjoyed good sleeps. Room servicing needs improvement. Our room did not see a vacuum cleaner for our three day stay and on one day we were left with no toilet paper! Attention to simple details let the hotel down. One thing that needs urgent addressing is the state of the upholstery chairs in the restaurant. We sat at different tables each day and the one thing in common is that the chairs are filthy with stains on the seat and backs. It is rather off putting. The hotel I read was refurbished in 2008-2009 and I suspect there are the chairs from then or before. Please, have them dry cleaned or replaced. Despite the issues that I have highlighted, in my opinion the hotel is a good choice. I say that from being a Diamond member who stays at many Hilton properties.

For a one night stop this is perfect. Close to the main route. However the bedrooms are in need of upgrading. That said the bathrooms were decent it’s just the bedrooms were something out of the 1980s.

The room was relatively small and tired with not enough hanging space in a cheap - looking stand alone wardrobe. A bath with shower curtain isn't really acceptable in this day and age. We were moved to another room and the carpet was better, but no other difference. Only one chair in the room unlike the online photo. The food in the restaurant was good, but we find it very frustrating to pay £32 for the cheapest bottle of wine (especially as it was £30 on the wine list!), upon Googling the retail price in a shop is typically £8. Nice setting and public areas, but the aspects mentioned really let it down in our opinion.
