I booked here as I needed a break away from home life , but live in the area and still had to work , I booked direct the check in was smooth the reception lady was lovely and friendly , I booked with my dog for 3 nights and breakfast, I got to the room it was clean and comfortable, I relaxed and read taking , tue next morning I went down for breakfast before heading to work , I asked the receptionist where I was to sit having the dog , there was a table laid out in a separate area which was thoughtful, a waiter came over said your here and off he went , I sat there and sat there , 25 minutes later I went back to reception to ask how I get service, she apologised and said the waiter should of told me it’s self service and she would hold my dog for me , by now I’m rather late , I had breakfast and went about my day , when I came back in the afternoon there was something going on , I guessed a wedding , which is lovely it is a hotel someone has to get married on a Tuesday, when I went up to my room it was like I was in the venue boom boom boom , the vibration made it where I didnt need to dance , I do think when someone books I think they should be told there is a venue and given the choice especially when it’s right below your room mid week , this went on until 11pm my daughter rang who asked where are you it sounds like your in a night club , she ended up ringing reception and asking could I be moved I was desperate for relaxing and sleep ( I am no stickler and love a good wedding ) there was no other rooms , I have recorded throughout the evening and if anyone reading this would understand the venue needs sound proofing , I left the next morning and didn’t stay my 3rd night nor have breakfast, I emailed the hotel but iv had nothing back . Just a little consideration for the other PAYING GUESTS - there was quite a few who wasn’t happy , sound proof venue , happy wedding , and other guests get to relax and sleep . All the staff I met were lovely and a credit to the hospitality trade .
