Stone House Hotel ‘A Bespoke Hotel’

A good stay with hotel having some good on site facilities including restaurant and pool.

Really friendly staff across all aspects of the hotel - reception, pool, bar and restaurant- and that makes a real difference! Nice quiet pool, lovely bar and fantastic quality Indian meal. The room was a decent size and we felt that we’d got a good deal.

We had a nice two-night stay at this hotel a short drive from the centre of Stone. There is plenty of parking which is included with the stay, and a pleasant outlook over gardens. The restaurant is very good, with excellent food served at reasonable prices. Most of the food is Asian so if you don't like this type of food, your choice would be limited. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. There is a nice buffet for continental breakfast, and hot breakfast is cooked to order. The suites are lovely, as are the private gardens and shared garden. To reach the suites and some of the bedrooms, it is necessary to walk up and down several flights of stairs, and there is no lift, and through lots of fire doors which is difficult to do single-handedly with bags. We would have liked to have known this on booking, and to have been offered help with suitcases. All of the staff we met were very friendly, polite and helpful. However, whether at reception, breakfast, or in the restaurant, we always had to wait some time before we could find any staff. We were not sure why this was but often there was no-one around, and they seemed to disappear again quickly. The hotel was busy during our stay but we slept very well - either it was quiet outside or the rooms are well soundproofed. Our room was being cleaned when we returned at 5pm which seemed a bit late. We didn't use the pool and spa facilities so can't comment on these. Overall the hotel is nice but perhaps a little pricey for the 3*.

On the whole ‘Good’ but let down by the limited leisure facilities. The changing rooms are going through a refurbishment, with the gents locker room handed over to the ladies while theirs is being worked on. Then they’ll start on the guys changing room, meaning that male users have no changing facilities to speak of (a cubicle has been erected in the gym), lockers, or most importantly, the ability to shower after using the facilities. This is not detailed anywhere until you get to the gym, and talking to the staff likely to take until the end of February 24 to complete.

Stay hear a lot Good location , service and room very good, food excellent , breakfast option is a great deal. Nice bar and very very good value.

Lovely stay

Stayed here for one night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Booked the four poster bed. The room was perfect. We used the swimming pool and jacuzzi again brilliant. Then we booked a meal at Saffron's Indian based in the hotel. The food was incredible. They also decorated our table with love hearts and petal's. Were hoping to come back and do it all again. Thank you for making our anniversary so special. Would recommend the hotel to everyone.

Good food and well served in the restaurant by Sally who possessed strong customer facing skills. Sally's work ethic was outstanding and she is a credit to the Stone House hotel restaurant. The burgers were very nice and Sally's delivery made it a night to remember.

food was amazing and the staff are super friendly and caring and look after you. Special shoutout to the lady that runs the gym, she is fantastic, caring and amazing attention to detail and makes you feel super welcome! love staying here when away for business, and will definitely come again.
