Old English main building, nice restaurent with diner, Breakfast was ok, but cooked only from 7 so not great for early starts, nice grounds, very close to our company. Comfy bed On the down side: A little old fashioned English old building. Room was so so, The EV Charging didnt work with my car. Old fashion bathroom and tap driven shower so variable temperature and not much pressure. They forgot to offer a desert

Really enjoyed our stay to celebrate our 52nd wedding anniversary. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The setting is peaceful , quiet, beautiful gardens and a lovely walk along a canal reached from the garden. We enjoyed a hearty breakfast and good, well cooked dinner. We liked everything about the hotel, but what made our stay so memorable was the staff. From the friendly receptionist to the restaurant staff nothing was too much trouble. I would like to make a special mention of Sharon Minors, she is an asset to the Hotel. She treated us like old friends and made us feel like we were at home. We felt our stay was important to Sharon and made sure we felt special. Thank you Sharon.

Great location . Beautiful grounds Food ok Downside not enough staff. Receptionist was doing the bar and cooking food. Too much for one person. Waited 20 minutes to get a drink. Asked receptionist about bar and she replied didnt see me from her desk and needed a mirror!

We spent 2 nights here as I had a birthday gift experience. We stayed bed and breakfast. Breakfast was lovely and catered for my gluten free diet. The room was nice, but a few things could be be improved to make the room more special. The windows frames and window sill were painted badly and the curtain rail was fitted to two unpainted planks of wood that looked like they were fitted by somebody unskilled. The staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough. We are in the restaurant and the food was nice, and was a little pricey but we didn’t mind as it was a break away. We were given the wrong bill, we paid and went to the bar for a.drink. When we realised the mistake the staff were very apologetic and sorted a refund of the difference to us.

A delightfully splendid Tudor hotel set way back from the road, which adds to privacy and prevents traffic noise. Large room with a very big queen size bed. Beautiful grounds leading down to the canal. Very private. Quiet hotel which is appreciated with helpful friendly staff. Attentive , thoughtful staff serving good food and reasonably priced drinks . We felt relaxed and looked-after. I had a problem with my meal which was rectified promptly and we reported a slight issue with our bathroom.Noted and recorded. Staff had time to talk and appeared to enjoy their job at this impressive Cotswold hotel. Thank you.

Had a great stay at Stonehouse Court Hotel last Sunday, our stay having been a Christmas present, however we were offered an upgrade which we gladly accepted as the room was wonderful with a roll top bath and in the old house itself. The bar is a tad expensive but all the staff were friendly and very helpful, especially Kimmy who arranged our upgrade in the afternoon, then greeted us at the restaurant in the evening where we enjoyed a great meal, in fact she was there until much later when we retired to our room and was back on duty to greet us for breakfast first thing in the morning still smiling, a great ambassador for the hotel. The old building itself is full of character and in a nice location and a walk around the gardens gives access to the canal that runs just behind, so all in all a great place for a mini getaway.

we booked many months ago for a wedding being held at the hotel, the hotel were aware we are booking for this wedding but decided not to inform us we could pay extra for early arrival, we travelled two hours and arrived at 11,40, room wasn't yet ready we were told so please take a seat and if you like you can get a drink, she said the room should be ready 12-12:30, we waited at the bar for nobody to arrive, we then asked reception if they could call someone, 12:30 came and we saw people arrive and check in this is how we found out you could book in early, we asked again after our room and was told not quite ready so we sat back down, the wedding was at 14:00 so we were now quite anxious and i was getting annoyed, 13:15 i asked again and at this point she decided to tell us that 3pm was the guaranteed time, i was extremely annoyed that she hadn't told us this before as we have family in the area and could have changed at one of their homes, it was now to late, no point in complaining as i overheard the lady tell another guest that her daughter was now her manager so no prizes for guessing who the manager would support, we managed to change in another wedding guests room just in time, somebody tell this lady COMMUNICATION is key please, mind you she really didn't seem bothered in the slightest, drinks are really expensive, we ordered 1 tea, 1 lager and 1 J2o which cost £13.55, wedding was lovely however by the time the final table got to the BBQ there was no salad or veggie skewers left, not my problem as we were not on that table, our room was large the beds were comfy but the pillows not so much ( i appreciate this is a very personnel choice ) the shower was awful literally no pressure not even enough to wash my hair and I HAVE NO HAIR, the hot tap on the basin spun around and i don't mean the handle, bathroom had mold on the ceiling and is in need of attention, at breakfast the plates on the hot stacker with a lid on were dirty ( we removed three dirty ones to find three clean ) cups on the table were dirty, some on the inside some on the outside as were the glasses, even the clean plates had dry food on the undersides ( you could feel it ) hot food was tasty but again by the time my wife got to the mushrooms there were four left, if you wanted fried eggs be prepared for a long long wait, we didn't bother, generally the staff were friendly and the grounds are lovely also not expensive to stay if you don't drink at the bar ( bring your own ) unfortunately after our long drive to be met with what we were met with just set the entire stay on a sour note, maybe for wedding guests were you know they are going to a wedding that starts at 14:00 offer them a place to change even if it's a non made up room, you must have some space for this or TELL THEM THEY CAN PAY EXTRA TO BOOK IN EARLY,

When we arrived it was busy in reception as there were a lot of foreign students mingling around. We had booked in on line so only had to collect our keys. The room was bright. The bathroom had a big walk in shower but hadn’t been finished off properly. The was paint on the fall tiles etc. when my hubby went to have a shower in the evening the shower just cut off and he couldn’t get it back on. He went to reception and baring I. Mind it was about 9 in the evening the receptionist was very helpful but said no one was available until the morning but she found us another room just round the corner from where we were, it was a twin and we had booked a double but it wasn’t a problem. The beds were very comfy and the big towels lovely and fluffy. The breakfast was ok. There was a good selection of cereals but only 1 kiwi fruit available and when asked if there was any more the waitress said I will see but never came back to me. The hot breakfast was not that hot but good selection. The next morning there was more fruit available. We weren’t told that you could order fried or poached eggs but saw the couple on the next table have some brought to there table. We had a lovely walk along the tow path at the back of the hotel but it was so muddy couldn’t go too far. The church is very old but beautiful inside. Think the hotel needs a bit of an update as some of it is very dated. It’s a lovely setting and I a can imagine in the summer it will be beautiful in the garden but the outside seating needs repairing as some of the tables had holes in them. Great location for Gloucester and surrounding area.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay with breakfast. Our room was nice and quite with views overlooking the garden and canal. We didn't eat at the hotel apart from breakfast which was nice. We were looked after very well. The staff were lovely, accommodating and friendly. Remenber that this is just a 3 star hotel but we thought it was excellent value and the setting was beautiful.
