If I had the option to rate zero I would. This unprofessional shower take bookings and money and don't have the courtesy to tell you they have closed down. Emailing their head office is no good either as they just hide behind ignoring any correspondence. I am only pleased that we have all found alternate accommodation which is am sure will be far superior to this dump.

Booked through *********** and turned up and they were closed! Shouldn't be advertising rooms on the website if they aren't even open!! Spent the whole day trying to find an alternative instead of enjoying my partners brothers wedding. Avoid avoid avoid.

Visited the White Horse Hotel for a Friday night drink and ended up staying and enjoying a lovely meal from the Italian restaurant. I had the Seaford spaghetti and my wife had the mushroom risotto. Both were absolutely delicious and without fault. The seafood was beautifully fresh and perfectly cooked. Leon is a great host and super hospitable- thanks for the limoncello and entertaining chat! Everyone who lives locally should support Leon by visiting the restaurant and bar, you won’t be disappointed.

We were badly let down by this hotel. We arrived to be told that we had not paid through ***********, which was later retracted. Only 3 rooms available, when we paid for 5 in advance. The Manager was apparently overseas. The barmaid, who had only been there a week was very professional and the Chef who was left to deal with the situation did not have an ounce of customer service in him. We eventually got a full refund and had to find alternative accommodation. Do not take any notice of the Four in a bed award on the wall. Avoid at all costs,

We were due to stay for two nights on the last weekend of February and used a red letter day two night stay that we had. We also had to pay a £38 supplement (no problem). Alarm bells should have rang when I spoke to the team a week earlier to book a table for dinner, only to be told that the restaurant was currently closed. Unfortunately, my partner tested positive for Covid on the Thursday (we were due to arrive on the Friday). I rang the hotel who said it would be ok to rebook but would need to call the manager in the morning. Rang back in the morning to reschedule our trip (we provided red letter day with the proof of positive Covid test) and the manager said they couldn’t rebook as the hotel was going into administration/liquidation. Approached red letter days who explained that the hotel had utilised the voucher and were also keeping the £38 supplement. No trip….no refund. Very sad!

After reading some reviews, we weren't sure what to expect. On arrival Leon the owner made us very welcome and helped carry our luggage to the room. The room was clean and tidy with freshly laundered bedding and towels. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided along with tv and free wifi.The hotel is 400 years old and due to being listed, still has single glazing which allows some noise to get through. There are some imperfections in the room but nothing to spoil the stay. The new housekeeper is working hard with her team to improve the standards. The pub closes at 11pm so you can get a good nights sleep. Breakfast is a hot and cold buffet of a good choice and standard. Leon and his team could not have made us feel more welcome.

OMG! What rooms were used to WIN “Four in a bed”? Rooms 107 & 109 disgraceful, dirty & grimey, no main ceiling light, radiator in bathroom non functional. Wished we hadn’t looked at the mattress and bedding, mattress heavily stained. Furnishings old and tired, falling to bits! Breakfast was good but had to wait for fried eggs, bread, cups!!! Such a pity as the staff were a friendly lot and tried to make ammends. I hope they can get it together ASAP.
