Lovely room

Booked for elderly family members and they had a lovely time. However the room notes need to mention that the rooms have stairs to the bedrooms. It made the room unsuitable for my family. I wouldn’t have booked the room I did had I known this. I have double checked my booking and it didn’t say anywhere about there being stairs in the type of room I booked.

Right in the middle of this pleasant Cotswolds town, the King's Arms in Stow is a focal point and a good base for trips around this lovely part of England. This is a historic house with many of the quirks that implies : Room 1 was a surprise, a duplex conversion of the old stable building, with a comfy large sitting room up the fairly precipitous stairs on the mezzanine above the bedroom. Food in the pub restaurant caters for all tastes and features some daily specials as well as a good menu (watch out for the excellent tomato and chorizo soup). There's overnight parking in the square outside the hotel.

So impressed with the amazing friendly staff here , nothing was too much trouble . Friendly chef whom we met on arrival , friendly bar staff everyone who worked there made us feel welcome . Great breakfasts , a lovely cosy room ( we stayed in the outside no 3) spotlessly clean . Thank you for making our stay so special .. and my birthday

The hotel is centrally located and a characterful old building. The staff front of house were a credit to the hotel (and to Australia!) - they worked extremely hard and were friendly and attentive. Whilst the service was first-class, we had a very poor night’s sleep in room 10. The bed was uncomfortable and in dire need of replacement; the mattress was worn, lumpy and thin. The room was also very hot. Reception were happy to move us to a different room for our second night, but the lack of sleep took the gloss off our first day in the Cotswolds. We also felt we should have been pre-warned of the very steep steps up to rooms 8-11 (probably a 60-degree angle). This was not a problem for us but those with mobility problems could encounter real difficulty. Although not entirely surprising in such an old building, it would be prudent for the hotel to highlight the difficulty of access upon booking.

It was exactly what we needed a stop gap between trips. Nice little pub would stay again

The staff was friendly, the room was fantastic and the bed was very comfortable. Everything was really well done, and the location was great, right in the town market square, and a very cloase drive to a lot of scenic Costswolds beauty.

Welcoming staff, lovely food and comfortable room. Nothing to fault.
