It's just that the location is a bit remote, but that's also why it's so remote. It's far away from the worries of the city. There's a lake next door and the air is very fresh. There are just a few restaurants and no convenience stores.

We booked a standard room and was offered an upgrade to a premium room with a view of the harbor for just $25 a night which we accepted. We did regret the decision as the view was awesome especially the sunset. Close food places and cruises and visitor centre.

It's scary when the room is dark at night, but it's nice to be able to see the inland sea from the terrace during the day. Although it is a house facing the street, you can only go around to the back, and you have to drag the box for a distance. It will be humid at night in spring, and there are many slugs on the road, so be careful not to step on them.

The Hill top rooms are tired & need some attention, however, are priced accordingly. If you're visiting mainly to enjoy the Gordon River Cruise the rooms are OK. The Lounge area and bar is the best spot to relax and enjoy the views.
