Queen's Inn

We left it a bit late to book accommodation for this trip and were surprised that we could get somewhere in the heart of the town. The hotel is obviously a bit worse for wear and is overdue a facelift but this presumably adds to the "old-worldly charm". We didn't try the pub, which was only open until 8pm but there were no restaurant or breakfast facilities on offer. There were a few breakfast alternatives nearby but a "good old Scottish breakfast" in-house wouldn't have gone amiss. Location is very central right on the main street and a 5 minute walk to the river and most of the festival locales, but we weren't bothered by the traffic and the free-onsite parking was a plus.

Very friendly staff. Very helpful. Went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable. The room and bed were comfortable. It's a really nice hotel and has a lot of historic features, which makes it a real pleasure to stay there. I often stay here

Pretty bad feeling after I spoke to the receptionist today. I understand that she does not have control. I have stayed here before and continued giving them business after I left. I called again to stay here for a week while my home is being staged for sale. I got a fabulous rate but this time no coupons were available to dine at the bar ( which is fabulous, by the way). I asked why ? “ You're local, not from out of town )” Next question hit really badly and I am really insulted. “ Do you have an address to go to, when you leave here!” Of course I do. It’s sad that when we locals supported local business’s during lockdown that the gratitude has disappeared. It works both ways. I’m sure she goofed up but really this is not a 5 star hotel and if transients are their usual guests then please don’t treat all of us like that. It’s your choice if you stay there. The family that owns this hotel are so beautiful. Some reception staff need to do some sensitivity training. On principle I won’t stay. Ill book somewhere that will treat me well.

Barb was awesome, treated us like old friends as soon as we arrived. Allowed us to have an early check-in and gave us an upgrade to a suite. Charming historic inn. Comfortable beds. We will definitely be back! Thank you for your warm hospitality.

Spent a lovely weekend at Stratford and stayed at the Queens Inn. The hotel is quaint with an authentic old English feel. Barb and her family are absolutely delightful, incredibly hospitable and go out of their way to make you feel at home. Highly recommend that anyone visiting Stratford stay at the Queens Inn.
