The Reception, Bar and Restaurant staff really went out their way to help. Good staff are hard to find so this was a big plus from the Guest perspective.

I couldn’t recommend the bear in enough. Always 5* service. Nice, friendly and very helpful staff. A very clean and tidy place to visit with my friends. A big beer garden aswell which is perfect when the sun is shining. I highly recommend visiting the bear inn.

As a local I often choose the Bear for food out with the family. I always enjoy the Breakfast, the Lunch menu provides a wide variety of appetising options snd their Sunday Roasts are always a winner! The Staff are friendly and very helpful, the atmosphere is always welcoming and relaxing. Would happily recommend.

Where to start? The Food If you're planning on eating here it's well worth asking whilst booking if they have anything on the menu available. We initially booked at this venue as it suited the dietary requirements of 3 of our 4 guests. Whilst waiting to be seated for our reservation we overheard the staff discussing that there was no mixed grills available. We then tried to order steak and we're told that the steak we wanted to order was not available. We asked instead of Fries / Chips to have a side of vegetables and no tomato and if possible a replacement mushroom. When the food arrived it had minimal veg on both dishes and a couple of shrivelled mushrooms. One of our other guests also tried to order the beef but we're again told it was unavailable so once again the order had to be changed from what was originally planned. The 4th guest could not eat anything that was left on the menu so did not eat. The steak was tough & The veg was lacking. If they would of told us on the phone half of the menu was unavailable we would of found an alternative venue however it was too late as every other location we rang were fully booked. And just to add salt to the wounds when receiving our bill they charged us £1.00 each for a shrivelled mushroom even though half of our meal was missing due to us not being able to eat it. (2 portions of Chips, 2x Tomatoes, Toast etc) The Room Upon arriving we were greeted by helpful staff and were told that we weren't actually staying the pub we were down the road off site in a self-maintained building. (There was no mention of this upon booking) When we arrived at the room the Toilet Roll holder was hanging from the wall and fell off as soon as it was touched. The toilet flush button was also broken meaning the toilet would struggle to flush and when it did it jammed. The bath tub was unusable due to plug being to small meaning it drained as soon as it was filled. The shower curtain was stained and visibly dirty and the sink was also filthy. Over all this has been an awful experience and I would not recommend to anyone to eat or stay here. Ironically it was after the meal they gave us a card with a QR Code to leave this review.
