We had an ok stay but this was the worst accomodation we had during a 1 month trip around Europe. The location is great as it’s very close to the train station and the lake. However, it was not a very comfortable stay for 3 main reasons:
1. The wifi didn’t work in our room
2. There was no hot water for a shower at night
3. Despite receiving email confirmation before arriving that we would have a double bed, our room had 2 old single beds that had been pushed together. These couldn’t be slept on as a double because: they were on unlockable casters, so easily moved on the tiled floor, the mattresses deeply sagged in the middle so there was a ridge on the edge of each of the mattresses, and, they were made up with single linen. In addition, we didn’t use the balcony we were looking forward to as it looked straight onto a construction site. So all in all, we were disappointed.

Hôtel extrêmement bruyant et mal insonorisé, vous pouvez suivre toutes les conversations de vos voisins, écouter leurs ronflements ainsi que compter la durée de chaque pipi et douche qu'ils prennent, literie inconfortable, salle de bain très petite et vétuste, douche minuscule, store cassé. Il y a un chantier devant l'hôtel qui vous réveille tous les matins, petit déjeuner quelconque, pain pas frais et croissants surgelés trop cuits, gâteaux et biscuits industriels, fruits identiques tous les jours (on y a séjourné 5 jours). Soit disant vue sur le Lac mais en tous les cas pas au 2ème étage car il y a un immeuble en construction. Réceptionnistes peu accueillantes (sauf la dame avec les cheveux frisés et lunettes). Nous n'y retournerons pas et le conseillons pas car impossible de se reposer après une belle journée de visite !

Well we are on a 6 week tour on our motorcycle and we chose our hotels as we go from place to place. We were in Brig Switzerland when we chose the Hotel Boston Stresa what a great find this was the place is really nicely decorated very clean and bright. The staff are very helpful and nothing seems to much trouble if you need something. The bedrooms are well appointed and of a good size with balconies. We didn't have breakfast here as we are retired and to be honest we don't normally get up until 9-30 ISH so we normally eat around 11am. The hotel has underground parking which for us was great as we are touring on our motorcycle it costs 8 euros a day and it's safe and secure. The hotel is 2 mins walk from the lake front of Maggiore and 10 mins walk into the main shopping and eating areas. You can get ferries to the islands on the lake and there are plenty of places to eat out lakeside. The hotel is also only 10 mins walk from the railway station and a Conad Supermarket so all in all this is a great place to stay.We will recommend this to our friends and family if they come to Italy. We had a great time here and would certainly stay here again if coming to Maggiore.

Some parts of the hotel have been renovated (e.g. Breakfast room) but the small room I stayed in was quite outdated in style and equipment and needs renovation. It smelled old (slight musty) but was clean.
