Two days before arrival we were emailed to say there would be a loud disco below our room until 11.45pm. They offered cancellation but it was far too late to change our visit and rearrange, so we put up with it. The room was ok but wasnt cleaned on the 2nd day. No Breakfast available both days. Pub was loud and noisy, would suit some but not us. Had Friday evening meal in restaurant 1st Friday of December - we were the only two people in the restaurant! Food and service fine, but room "tired".

Well situated in the middle of town. Room very clean and comfortable. At the front but not disturbed by any noise. This is a pub with rooms rather than a hotel. On checking in, I was given a key to the back door as when I got back they would be closed by 6. I hadn’t realised this as I had planned to eat I. The pub later. To get to the back door, you had to go through the dark car park with an even surface. Security light came on when within 4ft. As a woman on my own it was very scary. In the morning check out was 10. The cleaner of the pub told me to just leave the key on the side. It wasn’t a very personal service which at the night rate I was expecting more. But if you are looking for a no frills no contact room, it fits the bill.

Disgusting attitudes the brother and sister management. Service is terrible. Most inhospitable public house I’ve had the unfortunate experience of having to visit several times in the last year. Purely because it’s the only half decent premises in the town itself but the management style has a lot to be desired. Constant swearing by management when our children were in hearing range. Snide remarks and completely oblivious to their surroundings, Not aware of themselves at all. Middle class snobbery at its zenith.

Lovely stay at the Swan Inn. Comfortable bed, nice shower and friendly hosts. Would highly recommend. Unfortunately they didn’t have a chef which was disappointing but no fault of the hosts who I’m sure have tried very hard to employ one.

Our regular return to the Swan was very enjoyable. The room was clean and tidy. As always the welcome was warm and the service very good. A lovely old building but with modern and appropriate facilities. It was reasonable value for money. Looking forward to our next visit already!

Having booked the Swan in order to meet up with a friend, it was a bit of a surprise to find out that a live band was going to be playing- directly under our bedroom. In an even more surreal twist, the pub was taken over on Saturday night by all sorts of witches, ghouls, vampires, zombies and skeletons. The only thing to do was to embrace the madness and join in! The band was surprisingly good (80s rock) and we loved the whole community a**osphere. Awesome- thank you for a memorable stay!

We were appalled at the way we were treated at the Swan Inn, our first visit was lovely, Geoff was a very good host and knew that we recently reconnected with an elderly family member who lives locally and that we would be regular visitors to the Swan (every 6 weeks or so) we spent a lot of money as we like to have breakfast and evening meal there and also the bar. Upon this second visit, we arrived at about 3.30pm we were greeted by Phore who did nothing short of bully us into paying straight away for our room, just as we had paid, she promptly told us that they had no chef and could we please hurry up booking breakfast for the following morning  as the bar is closing in a minute. We had travelled a long way and this was NOT the attitude and impolite words we wanted to hear. Phore wouldn't stop complaining about her boss to other guests in the bar and we felt quite ill at ease. The next morning we had to cut our stay short as we had to return home for an emergency. My husband went to tell reception in hope we may get some sort of refund for the second night as we were in fact duped into thinking they had a chef and all the other things we had liked about our first stay. But to no avail, not a good will gesture, nothing!!!!! We spent a lot of money and would have spent regular amounts when we visit my Aunt.  My husband tried to ring Geoff a couple of times as we think he knew nothing of what had happened and how we were treated as soon as we set foot in his door. You do NOT treat regular visitors like this and you should warn people that the bar and the chef were not available before they pay for their stay!!! Disgusting way to run a business!
