Its ok but the teams are unable to see that the cars prevent customers paying for rooms at the right price. Many staff have cars in board levels to appease this . Leadership is not driving a car. Weaather a customer or a ceo of any hotel . Maany cR dealers and sales teans held against thuer needs to appease a government nany times wrong prior. Leadership not words Model the national intrest. A truthfull finding is internationaal respect by the roads of honest trade.

I visited the Mill Hotel in Sudbury for their traditional afternoon tea with a friend. The restaurant itself had a nice rustic feel with the wooden beams and low ceilings. I also loved the fabric pattern on the chairs. There was a lot of scaffolding surrounding the external building so I assumed the hotel is having a revamp. We were served the food without an explanation of what anything was and the food looked different to the menu online so it was mainly a guessing game! We also didn’t receive any check-back on the food and had to ask for tea refills. I enjoyed the sandwiches the most; the ham and mustard mayo and the salmon were my favourite. There were fruit scones on the online menu, but we were served a plain scone with some Tiptree strawberry jam and clotted cream. The cakes were (I think) a chocolate brownie, lemon drizzle cake and lemon curd meringue. It was a real shame about the service as this always makes such a difference to the overall experience.

Property was exactly as described. Breakfast was tasty with plenty of cooked options. We had dinner in the restaurant on the first night and there was plenty to choose from and it was well presented and cooked.

Lovely hotel, situated in very pretty grounds. Lots of dogs and couples, friendly and laid back. friendly staff, beautiful grounds, nice bar. Menu for the restaurant looked a bit boring so we didn't try it. The cooked breakfast was decent however. If you fancy a country walk, it has lots of them across the river. Very close to Sudbury town too for more choice of restaurants and pubs.

There are many positives to describe our experience. The staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. The room is well appointed with an excellent shower(very important). The setting is superb, in town but with a mill pond and fields from the windows. The food both with the evening meal and breakfast is very good, apart from one glaring exception, their breakfast sausage! This hotel is not unique in falling short with their sausage offering, but to serve this inferior version is unforgivable. The tough outer casing is made from non biodegradable plastic. Should you manage to penetrate this barrier, your faced with a solidified, grey, inedible material, impossible to chew or digest. Whoever is responsible in sourcing this item should be forced to eat it at every meal. Apart from that rant, we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

The staff in the restaurant, bar and reception were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean but overlooking the road and car park entrance so a disappointing view, would have preferred a nicer view. We had problems with the water not draining out of the washbasin, we reported this problem three times to reception, it still didn’t get sorted. We just had to put up with it! The shower screen was dirty around the edges. The shower pressure was terrible. I don’t think there plumbing was very good at all! We had to ask at reception for hand soap and toilet paper when it should have been replenished before we checked into the room. Otherwise the hotel is in a good location, on the edge of Sudbury - within a walking distance to the centre of the town.

Great staff, rooms and the breakfast was excellent. We ate in on the first night next to the water wheel. A great features and the meal was good. Super walks and market town. So many lovely walks in the local area and then back to the Mill Hotel bar to sit on comfy seats and look at the view.

Although we had a very enjoyable stay our overall experience of The Mill Hotel certainly wouldn’t rate 4 stars! Our room was very comfortable but ….. there was no towel rail in the bathroom, nor the bedroom, for hand towels and the big fluffy bath towels. Where do you hang these to dry them to use again? Also the promised complimentary bathroom toiletries amounted to one shower cap, a small bar of washbasin soap (which kept sliding into the washbasin), and fixed wall containers of shower gel & shampoo. We are now moved on to a B&B which has provided: individual bottles of conditioner, shampoo, body wash, hand & body lotion, soap, vanity kit, shower cap, & sewing kit! Now that’s what I call 4 star complementary toiletries! Breakfast was a very odd experience with a self serve buffet breakfast. 1st morning the only eggs on offer were scrambled but they were the worst I’ve ever had - hard, dry, rubbery & inedible! Today they were the same but I asked for fried eggs which were brought to my table. Why was there no sign suggesting eggs could be ordered? Tea was available from hot water flasks - proper tea needs to be from freshly boiled water! Today there were no saucers so all around us were guests running around and sitting at tables with cups - nowhere to put spoons and used teabags! Yesterday and today I had to request tea plates for my toast & croissants - none had been set out. Staff were helpful but seemed unaware what was needed. We ate in the hotel last night but I’m afraid the 4 star hotel served food which was more like 2 star pub grub. My steak which the waitress agreed should be ‘rare’ came ‘medium’! My wife’s sea bass main came smothered in sauce and a side of noodles that simply didn’t work. It’s a real shame because it is a nice hotel but could be much better with obvious much needed improvements. Booking was a real problem probably due to Surya Hotels central booking system. I nearly gave up!
