Dukuh Pakis
The hotel is ok, annex to a mall. Standard rooms are small and relatively dark. Difficult to get good water temperature on showers and the AC seems to set up temperature automatical and mysteriously. They claim to have 5 stars which definitely isn't correct.

A pleasant surprise for us when visiting Surabya. Though it is located at West Surabaya, a bit far from where our meeting was, the trip is worthwhile. All about this hotel is just right, from the service to all the hotel facilities are great (maybe since it is still quite new). I would say this Westin in Surabaya is even better than the one in Jakarta from all aspects. We booked the suite which is amazing and the standard room also quite nice, though we dont get to have the premium coffee and ferragamo soaps. Union around corner opened till 2 AM and the hotel is attached to the largest Mall in southeast asia (from what I heard). However, I have not really used all the hotel facilities and I skipped the breakfast (because I was way too full from prior night meal). The only thing that a bit bother me is the blind installed in all the bathroom including in the suite room, where it is very noticable it is wrinkly and not properly installed. A bit crack inthe almost perfect experience. However, i would still rate the hotel 5 star for everything else.

Nestled in an enviable location, this hotel has rightfully earned its popularity among locals. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a team of amiable staff who extended a warm welcome. The breakfast buffet was exceptional, and we highly recommend trying the in-house nasi goreng. The spacious rooms, while lacking in some amenities, were otherwise comfortable. However, we did notice a slight odor of dampness and dust that was slightly unpleasant. One minor quibble we had was with the lighting - the dimming lights were not strong enough to provide sufficient illumination, especially after sunset. Additionally, we were disappointed to find only one pair of slippers provided in the room despite booking for two guests in each of our two rooms. Was this a cost-cutting measure? Our biggest issue arose when we arranged for the hotel's car service to take us to the airport upon departure. The driver first dropped off our parents at the domestic terminal, but it wasn't until later that he informed us of an additional charge to take us to the international terminal - despite the short distance between them. We had already paid a premium for the hotel's chartered car service, and it was disappointing that the driver did not disclose this additional charge upfront. While we understand the importance of profit margins, we believe it's essential to prioritize transparency and honesty with guests. Overall, this hotel was a decent choice for the price we paid. Despite the minor drawbacks, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the friendly staff and excellent breakfast.

Was lucky enough to be upgraded to Executive Club for my 14 night stay and must admit we made the most of it. Breakfast cooked to order, afternoon tea, 6pm wine and great choice of cooked eats, cheese, cakes/puddings etc which meant we didn't need to go for dinner. Room was good with modern tv with lots of channels and enabling smartview from mobile/tablet (internet was strong throughout hotel). Bathroom was great with fantastic showers and a bathtub which filled quickly. Bed was huge and comfortable, blackout curtains and subtle lighting to enable sleep at any time and aircon worked perfectly and quietly. 3 restaurants on site for the odd night we fancied straying from the executive lounge. Restaurants were a little expensive perhaps but it's a 5 star hotel so to be expected. Pros: Good rooms, strong internet, great showers, Executive Club - OUTSTANDING staff/customer service in all areas of hotel and unbelievably charming staff. Cons: Desperados bar in the basement had good live music but was very disappointing (best avoided unless you are in a group).

The check-in lobby is on the top floor while the lower lobby is only for drop-offs. Didn't expect anything because I ordered the lowest room, apparently at check-in I was told that my room was double-upgraded from superior (44 m2) to executive (81 m2). If the superior type is just an ordinary room without a pantry, the executive type has a complete kitchen and equipment. The room is very spacious consisting of 4 rooms, consist of the bedroom, bathroom, living and dining room, and kitchen. The rooms smells good and there is no damp smell at all. All equipment works fine For the living room there is a dining table equipped with 3 chairs, a long sofa and a small sofa with a large TV. The kitchen has a washing machine, oven, zinc, refrigerator, electric stove, coffee machine, toaster, kettle, rice cooker. Very complete and still looks all shiny. Tableware includes spoons, forks, chopsticks, knives, ladle, scissors, corkscrews, bowls, teapots, cething, plates, various glasses and mugs, pans. For bottled mineral water, 2 bottles of 600 ml are provided, coffee uses excelso coffee capsules, tea uses the Dilmah brand. Kitchen amenities are also very complete, namely sunlight and sponges, plus liquid soap is also provided for washing. So oakwood is perfect for those who long-stay or gather in parties with friends The bedroom is also quite spacious, equipped with a cupboard, desk, work desk and chair. Adequate sized TV with digital viewing and wifi also runs smoothly. There are also many room sockets so you don't get confused if you bring lots of electronic equipment. The soft mattress is great for sleeping with 4 regular pillows and 2 decorative pillows. For the anniversary set, they are given a large slice of cake with an art towel. The bathroom is equipped with a bathtub, shower and rain shower, closet and sink. Towels are provided 2 bath towels and hand towels. Complete amenities for Budi Jaya production. The bathtub has clear water and fills up quickly, anti-drama. Swimming pool, fitness and spa facilities are available on the F floor. The swimming pool is indoor and a bit dark, forget whether there is a children's pool or not. Complete fitness equipment, the brand is life fitness, each treadmill is also provided with its own TV. Breakfast at Oakwood starts at 06.00-10.00. The taste is quite suitable on my tongue and the variant are considered complete. Breakfast conditions are also crowded 1. Waffles and Pancakes 2. Indonesian Corner (Yellow rice, beans, noodles, fried chicken, Rawon) 3. Madura porridge (pearls, marrow, grendul, pandan, green beans) 4. Tegalsari
Sheraton Surabaya is conveniently located right next to the 2nd largest shopping mall in Indonesia. So for travellers who are not keen to travel too far or trapped in the traffic, this would be the best choice for you!! Was a tad disappointed that our sleep got disturbed by the renovation in the morning. Really hope the hotel management could pay more attention to that. Otherwise, a great hotel that we will return to again.
