We thoroughly enjoyed our room and thought the staff and location were great. We didn’t care for the extra fees or the fact that we wanted the bar to open later than 9 PM. The shower was also very slow to drain. Otherwise, great stay. Would recommend this stay for people going to North Miami.

I absolutely love staying here. Manager Geri is the best. I always come to Surfside. It’s a totally different vibe than South Beach. People see brown skin and assume I’d rather be in South Beach. No thank you. My previous stay was in June 2025 as soon as school ended. It was a teacher girls’ trip. We were treated great. Geri gave us recommendations about where to eat and things to do. We ended up going to Haulover nude beach and to Tootsie’s. Tootsie’s has amazing tacos. There are a lot of great restaurants within walking distance; Moncheese and Flanigans were two of the places we tried. Both were good. This trip I came alone. I was able to check in early for. I am hoping for a late checkout when I leave. The rooms are always immaculate. You are given food and drink vouchers upon checkin (excludes alcohol). You get a towel card to present to front desk and pool so you can checkout towels and/or beach chairs. It’s a super easy process. Surge was amazing when I checked in yesterday. She is very personable…Geri too. Surge made sure my reservation was correct and made sure I was taken care of. I appreciate kind and genuine people. You benefit from the energy you put out. Surge and Geri would be the main reason I’d keep returning. I can read people and their energy is pure and full of light. The location is great!! The beach is about a five minute walk. You also get passes to the community center. I did not partake. If you have kids, I recommend going. The community center is like 20 paces from the beach. There is free breakfast each morning. Today was turkey sausage patties, eggs, bagels, blueberry muffins, oatmeal, potatoes, boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, peanut butter, jam, apples, fresh cut fruit in cups, and cereal. There’s coffee and tea. My one “issue” is that there is not any honey. The breakfast said it’s not a standard for the hotel. I wanted the honey for my tea. However, I also eat honey on my toast. While making my oatmeal, another visitor asked about brown sugar (typically at most oatmeal areas) and I told her there’s not any and there’s no honey either. No big deal, but I do hope you all change your mind about honey. The chicken tacos were amazing!! You get three. They give you salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. I can’t wait to come back in the summer for sure! Hopefully, I can make it back for winter break 2 or spring break! Again, your go-to people are Geri and Surge. They make staying here an amazing experience.

We just concluded our second stay. We stayed 9 days. We’d stayed here earlier this year and had a really good visit. This visit was slightly less terrific which all related to service. First the good things…this hotel is in a quiet terrific location. Beach is across the street and we like the towel and chair loans from the front desk. We also like that we could use the Surfside Community Center which is a pool complex on the ocean one block north. It’s also terrific and we like the mix of beach and pool and it is quiet and clean. We also really like this hotel’s pool. Parking is easy and we come and go quickly. The staff are very nice and work hard to keep everything running and that’s obvious to see. The bad things this trip…housekeeping was abysmal. We arrived and needed to use the sofa bed as we were 2 adults and 2 teens. The bed had a sheet and 1 blanket and 1 pillow. The desk said no more pillows as it is high season. Each day we received different numbers of towels when the housekeeper cleaned the room. Sometimes 1,2, or 3 but never 4 so I had to call each day to the desk for additional towels just so we could each have 1. The beds were not made well, I don’t think the sheets were ever changed during our stay. The entire housekeeping situation seems like it is simply overwhelmed . We were quite obviously 4 people staying in the room and never received adequate towels in the room. It was terribly annoying. I also had to ask a couple times for more bath gel in the wall dispenser and that request was never granted so we made do with shampoo and conditioner. I don’t know why the housekeepers don’t just check the dispensers to get ahead of the empty. The bar soap that is provided literally crumbles in the hands and has a bad smell. This should just be changed. Why not have hand soap in a bottle at the sink with body lotion as those items were of the lowest possible quality. Around day 3 of our stay the housekeeper also stopped leaving a couple washcloths so we had to use a hand towel in the shower, we never got washcloths again. Overall a fail on housekeeping. Breakfast is a cattle call. The food is so-so….the usual wet eggs, 2 flavors of yogurt, cinnamon and plain bagels….cheap apples and bananas. But what surprised me is the coffee tank is nearly always out and almost every day I had to ask the attendant to replace it. Why not just have two tanks and check them? There is plenty of space. And the two slot toasters are slow and don’t work well. Why not have four toasters if you see the area is overwhelmed as it was every morning? And why the raw spinach? Such a strange item. I looked and never saw anyone eat it. Why not offer better quality fruit, more variety of yogurts, and a little more variety of breakfast foods? The entire enterprise seems so odd. But, we might stay again simply due to location and then again we might not if I can find a better spot for us in the area. The hotel is trying hard but

Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel has been very disappointing. We have been staying here for three days, of seven and during this time the room has not been properly cleaned. There was no proper housekeeping done, and the lights in our room were not working from the start. When this issue was first reported to the front desk, the staff member we dealt with was extremely rude. We were told the issue would be sorted out, but three days later the lights are still not working. When we followed up again and asked about towels (as we were only provided with two), we were told that someone could be sent to the room at 11:00 p.m. on a Monday night, which was not a reasonable solution. Overall, this hotel has not met expectations. The staff, particularly at the front desk especially the one person , have been unhelpful and unfriendly, and basic maintenance and housekeeping issues were not addressed during our stay. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel based on our experience.
