This ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) exudes a wonderful Showa-era charm and is a quintessential Japanese onsen experience. From the moment we pulled into the parking lot, someone was there to greet us and help with our luggage, escorting it all the way to our room. The staff explained everything about the inn in great detail. I absolutely loved the ambiance! We had dinner reservations for 7:30 PM in a private dining room. The proprietress even came in to greet us and ask how we liked the beef in our sukiyaki. My Japanese isn't great, so I didn't understand everything, but she was incredibly warm and welcoming ❤️🔥. The lady who checked us in was also super friendly. If you're planning a pilgrimage to Tateishi Park from 'Your Name,' this ryokan is an absolute must-stay!

Beautiful hotel with wonderful service. Short walk from the JR station. Maybe it’s because I was there during a weekday and an off peak season everywhere was nice and quiet. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. Got a room with a view of the lake it’s absolutely beautiful. Would definitely come back again.

It was the first night of my entire trip—and also the most expensive one. But it was absolutely worth it!
Lake Suwa was right in front of the hotel. If you take the train, it might be a bit of a walk, but since I drove, the location was perfect.
The hotel was incredibly spacious, and the onsen was lovely.
Dinner (a full course meal) was exceptional, and breakfast was just as impressive—absolutely delicious!
One thing I still wonder about: what were those insects outside the window at night?
They clung to the glass, and I was afraid they might get inside. Thankfully, the window seals were excellent, so none of them made it indoors. Only the outdoor bath had a few, which was understandable.
I truly hope I can go back again—with my mom next time!
