This hotel is very close to Pingjiang Road, which is a big plus for its location. The room was clean, with good natural light, and all the daily necessities were well-prepared. The staff were polite and welcoming, and check-in was very quick. You can walk to Pingjiang Road right from the hotel, so the overall experience was good. What was particularly delightful were the gardens and the photography service. You can enjoy Suzhou gardens right inside the hotel. During meal times, you can also listen to Pingtan performances.

Pros: ・Excellent location, right on Shantang Street scenic area. ・Charming, retro-style hotel with its own courtyard and beautiful views. ・Staff were very friendly and welcoming. ・The room's slippers and toiletries were very refined. Cons: ・Room facilities felt a bit dated. The set-top box connection was loose, and the TV wouldn't display anything. After a lot of fiddling and trying to unplug and replug the HDMI cable, it finally worked. ・Couldn't get the air conditioning right in the Sheng Yuan room (second floor). Even after trying several times before checking out, it seemed like the touch panel in the living room controlled the bedroom's AC, and the bedroom's panel controlled the living room's AC... I've already reported this to the butler, and they said they'd check it out.
